- • Lead the month-end close process for U.S. and international entities, ensuring timely and accurate accounting for operating expenses, banking activity, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and key balance sheet accounts.
- • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and flux analyses, ensuring all accounts are fully substantiated with third-party support, clear documentation, and timely resolution of reconciling items.
- • Support revenue accounting processes to ensure accurate application of ASC 606, partnering with leadership on complex or non-standard revenue arrangements.
- • Ensure accuracy and integrity of payroll accounting across U.S. and international entities, including review of payroll journals, reconciliations, and related tax and liability accounts to maintain compliance.
- • Drive operational accuracy and efficiency across accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring timeliness and alignment with internal controls and company policies.
- • Own the execution of U.S. sales and indirect tax compliance, including monitoring nexus, managing registrations, coordinating with Avalara and external tax advisors, and reviewing filings for accuracy and completeness.
- • Prepare and review audit schedules, PBC requests, and supporting workpapers for external audits and regulatory reviews.
- • Lead process, systems, and close-efficiency improvements by standardizing month-end procedures, enhancing reconciliation workflows, and identifying automation opportunities.
- • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Finance, Tax, Payroll, and Operations to ensure seamless accounting execution and alignment with business goals.
- • Maintain high standards for documentation and accuracy while operating in a fast-scaling, high-growth technology environment with shifting priorities.
- • Apply U.S. GAAP principles hands-on in a dynamic business setting to support scalable accounting operations.
- • Utilize NetSuite and other financial systems (e.g., FloQast, Airbase, BambooHR) to streamline accounting workflows and improve control environments.
- • Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual effort, increase efficiency, and strengthen internal controls across accounting functions.
- • Communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders across departments to resolve accounting issues and drive cross-functional alignment.
- • Operate independently as a hands-on individual contributor while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented approach to achieving outcomes.
- • Maintain compliance with tax and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions through proactive monitoring and coordination with external advisors.
- • Support the company’s growth by ensuring accounting systems and processes scale effectively with increasing transaction volume and geographic complexity.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting and industry experience, with exposure to high-growth technology, SaaS, and/or pre-IPO environments.
- • CPA strongly preferred.
- • Strong technical foundation in U.S. GAAP with hands-on experience applying accounting principles in a dynamic business setting.
- • Proficiency with NetSuite strongly preferred; experience with close automation, spend management, payroll, or billing systems (e.g., FloQast, Airbase, BambooHR, or similar) is a plus.
- • Demonstrated ability to improve, standardize, and automate accounting processes to drive scalability, efficiency, and strong internal controls.
- • Experience operating in fast-scaling environments, with comfort navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities.
