- • As a Technical Customer Engineer at Ascertain, you will serve as the critical bridge between our AI-powered healthcare automation product and the complex operational realities of our customers, including billing teams, revenue cycle leaders, and IT departments in major health systems and specialty groups.
- • Your day-to-day work will involve on-site visits to customer locations (approximately 10-20% travel), where you will map real-world workflows such as claim denial handling, build integrations against legacy practice management systems and payer portals, troubleshoot production issues, and collaborate with our product team to generalize solutions into reusable features.
- • You will join a small, mission-driven team at Ascertain, a company backed by Northwell Health and Deerfield Management, dedicated to reducing administrative burdens in healthcare through AI agents that restore time, trust, and focus to care teams.
- • In this founding role, you will have significant ownership and impact—your direct engagement with customers will shape product evolution, improve healthcare operations, and ultimately enhance patient care by enabling more efficient and accurate administrative workflows.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of experience as a software engineer with a proven track record of shipping production systems end-to-end
- • Proficiency in Python (required), with preferred experience in FastAPI and TypeScript for full-stack development
- • Demonstrated ability to build, integrate, or work with external APIs, third-party systems, and imperfect or legacy data sources
- • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, build trust with hospital administrators and billing teams, and navigate ambiguous, unstructured environments
