Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Technical Program Manager for Training Data at BrainCo Inc., you will serve as the critical operational backbone for the company’s AI/ML initiatives by owning the end-to-end labeling process that directly enables the development of high-impact AI applications for governments, healthcare systems, and critical industries. Your work ensures that the data fueling BrainCo’s models is accurate, scalable, and delivered on time — making you indispensable to the company’s mission of modernizing essential services through frontier AI.
- • You will partner with ML engineers, labelers, vendors, and subject matter experts to transform raw data into high-quality labeled datasets that power real-world AI solutions, from optimizing energy supply chains to streamlining hospital patient care and automating government permitting — each project carrying significant societal and economic impact.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include owning labeling operations across multiple concurrent AI/ML projects, sourcing and managing labelers, agencies, and SMEs, writing and refining precise labeling instructions, collaborating with engineers to define labeling approaches and quality requirements, identifying and curating appropriate datasets, tracking progress against milestones, monitoring data quality and efficiency, recommending and shaping labeling tools and automation, facilitating cross-team alignment, and building scalable, long-term labeling workflows focused on latency, accuracy, and scalability.
- • BrainCo is an applied AI startup co-founded by Jared Kushner and Elad Gil, backed by Silicon Valley leaders like Patrick Collison and Andrej Karpathy, and powered by a team of 70+ AI experts from Tesla, Google DeepMind, NVIDIA, and Databricks. The company has already demonstrated tangible impact — accelerating government permitting by 80% ($375M+ value), cutting energy supply chain costs by 30% while boosting reliability, and improving hospital outcomes by 40% while reducing admin work by 80% — and recently raised a $55M Series A to scale its mission.
- • You will join a high-velocity, mission-driven team where technical rigor meets real-world impact, gaining deep expertise in AI data lifecycle management, human-in-the-loop systems, and scalable data operations — skills that are increasingly vital as organizations seek to deploy trustworthy, production-grade AI at scale. This role offers unparalleled opportunity to shape how leading institutions adopt AI, while developing leadership in a fast-growing startup environment where your contributions directly influence multi-million-dollar outcomes.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2+ years of experience in dataset curation, data labeling operations, data annotation, or a closely related role involving the management of labeled data workflows for AI/ML projects.
- • Strong ownership mindset with proven ability to serve as the single point of accountability for complex, cross-functional operational workflows involving multiple stakeholders.
- • Excellent written communication skills, demonstrated through the ability to create clear, precise, and actionable labeling instructions, task definitions, and examples that enable consistent, high-quality output from diverse labelers.
- • Strong organizational and project management capabilities, including experience planning around timelines, dependencies, and resource constraints in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- • Proactive communication style — consistently raising risks, blockers, and tradeoffs early to enable timely decision-making and unblock progress across engineering and labeling teams.
- • Sufficient technical fluency to collaborate effectively with ML and engineering teams, including understanding of data pipelines, model inputs/outputs, and the implications of labeling choices on model performance.
- • Experience interviewing, onboarding, managing, or coordinating labelers, vendors, or subject matter experts across different domains, including the ability to assess quality and manage performance at scale.
- • Comfort with lightweight scripting, prototyping, or automation (e.g., Python, shell scripts, or low-code tools) to streamline repetitive labeling tasks, improve efficiency, or reduce manual overhead.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to work on high-impact AI projects that directly improve critical public services — including government operations, healthcare delivery, and energy infrastructure — where your work contributes to outcomes affecting millions of people.
- • Join a well-funded, elite AI startup backed by top-tier investors and founders, with access to a team of 70+ world-class AI experts from industry leaders like Tesla, Google DeepMind, NVIDIA, and Databricks.
- • Significant autonomy and ownership in shaping labeling processes, tooling, and workflows from the ground up, with direct influence on the scalability and quality of BrainCo’s AI products.
- • Exposure to cutting-edge AI applications in regulated and complex domains such as health, insurance, and permitting, building rare expertise in human-in-the-loop AI systems.
- • Professional growth in a fast-moving, high-trust environment where initiative is rewarded and your contributions are visible in tangible, measurable outcomes (e.g., cost savings, efficiency gains, improved accuracy).
- • Competitive compensation and equity package reflective of BrainCo’s Series A funding and mission-driven growth trajectory, alongside the chance to be part of a company building the next generation of institutional AI.
