📋 Description

• Serve as the analytical and operational backbone for the Packaged Genies & Marketplace Engineering team within Workato’s AI Business Unit, bridging engineering and product functions to ensure seamless delivery of enterprise-grade AI automation solutions.
• Conduct technical competitive research by monitoring the agentic AI and enterprise automation landscape, producing structured, factual summaries of competitor capabilities, gaps, and positioning to inform product and design decisions.
• Perform differentiator analysis on Workato’s Packaged Genies across measurable dimensions including integration depth, orchestration complexity, configurability, performance, and Marketplace reach, generating factual comparison data for leadership positioning.
• Decompose product requirements from the Technical Owner into well-structured Jira epics and stories with clear descriptions, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and effort estimates, facilitating story refinement sessions to ensure team clarity.
• Maintain sprint-level visibility into Packaged Genies delivery by tracking progress against commitments, surfacing blockers early, and providing concise, accurate status updates to the Technical Owner.
• Design and optimize Genies for end-user experience quality, focusing on response latency, token efficiency, and execution performance across multi-system workflows.
• Instrument and maintain feedback loops within Genie interactions to capture user signals, surface failure patterns, and contribute to iterative self-improvement of Genie behavior over time.
• Develop and configure Agentic Apps and Packaged Genies using Workato’s Agent Studio under the direction of the Technical Owner, contributing directly to implementation.
• Review and validate Skill logic, orchestration patterns, and integration configurations, providing structured feedback grounded in both technical and business context.
• Troubleshoot issues across complex multi-system integrations and escalate findings with clear, well-documented analysis.
• Contribute to engineering documentation covering implementation decisions, integration patterns, and best practices to ensure knowledge is accessible and current.
• Participate in code reviews with a focus on correctness, maintainability, and alignment with product requirements and technical specifications.
• Work closely with senior engineering and product leadership in a fast-paced environment to align technical execution with business objectives and strategic priorities.
• Gain hands-on experience designing and developing Agentic Apps using Workato’s Agentic Apps Framework and Packaged Genies via Agent Studio across diverse enterprise use cases.
• Learn how agent orchestration integrates Skills, knowledge bases, and actions across systems to create intelligent, end-to-end workflows.
• Understand how to architect modular, scalable components that support reuse within a larger platform ecosystem.
• Master best practices for prompt engineering, configuration management, and building secure, enterprise-grade AI-driven solutions.
• Observe the full product lifecycle of Agentic Apps and Packaged Genies — from requirements and design to implementation, certification, Marketplace listing, and continuous enhancement.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, technical business analysis, or product-focused engineering roles
• Strong ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into structured artifacts (user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows) with hands-on familiarity in Ruby, Python, or Java
• Experience working in Agile environments, preparing and refining Jira stories, tracking sprint delivery, and facilitating cross-functional alignment
• Hands-on experience with integrations, APIs, and authentication flows across enterprise systems (CRM, HRMS, ITSM, IAM, ERP)
• Demonstrated awareness of LLM performance considerations including latency optimization, token usage management, and response quality in production agentic systems
• Experience with workflow automation, orchestration, low-code platforms, or AI/ML-powered systems; familiarity with prompt engineering or LLM-based systems is a strong plus
