📋 Description
- • Lead MeridianLink’s technical documentation strategy and manage a team of technical writers, setting direction for content across the lending platform suite.
- • Contribute hands-on to the authoring of complex administrator and user guides, modeling high-quality writing standards and mentoring writers on high-stakes content.
- • Design and implement content structure, taxonomy, and information architecture to ensure consistency, clarity, and discoverability across all product documentation.
- • Build and maintain authoring infrastructure including implementation and management of enterprise tools such as MadCap Flare, Paligo, or equivalent, including template design, project setup, and publishing workflows.
- • Partner with product and engineering teams to define documentation scope, requirements, and release timing, ensuring alignment with product launch cycles.
- • Oversee the end-to-end documentation release process, coordinating with engineering and product teams to synchronize updates with software deployments.
- • Collaborate with customer support and customer success teams to develop a unified customer-facing content strategy that integrates technical documentation, FAQs, knowledge bases, and training materials.
- • Define and enforce documentation standards, including a company-wide style guide, review cadence, and quality gates to ensure accuracy and uniformity.
- • Manage the technical writing team through hiring, mentoring, workload allocation, and performance evaluations, fostering professional growth and ownership among writers.
- • Analyze user feedback, support tickets, and usage data to identify content gaps, prioritize improvements, and drive continuous enhancement of documentation quality.
- • Implement systematic approaches to replace ad-hoc documentation processes, introducing structured workflows, metadata tagging, and content reuse strategies.
- • Leverage AI tools to generate initial content drafts and automate repetitive tasks, improving efficiency while maintaining editorial control and quality.
- • Ensure all documentation meets accessibility and compliance standards for enterprise financial technology products.
- • Serve as the primary advocate for user-centered documentation, translating complex technical features into clear, actionable guidance for diverse customer audiences.
- • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices in technical communication and adapt strategies to evolving product complexity and customer needs.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years in technical writing; 3+ years managing writers at a SaaS company
- • Hands-on experience authoring large, complex administrator and user guides (single products or product families)
- • Hands-on implementation experience with enterprise authoring tools (MadCap Flare, Paligo, or equivalent) as well as knowledge bases; ability to set up projects, templates, and publishing workflows
- • Experience designing documentation structure and information architecture for multiple products or a large product suite
- • Demonstrated ability to move teams from ad-hoc to systematic approaches (process definition, taxonomy, tooling)
- • Experience using AI tools to generate content drafts and automate processes
