  • • Serve as the first point of contact for scientists in academic, biotech, and pharmaceutical labs, providing Tier 1-2 technical support for sequencing services via email and phone.
  • • Respond to customer inquiries with speed, professionalism, and empathy, balancing urgency with accuracy in all communications.
  • • Interpret scientific information from customers to identify their needs and determine the most effective solutions for sequencing-related technical issues.
  • • Monitor sequencing process outputs and troubleshoot inconsistencies to ensure high-quality data delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • • Utilize internal systems with meticulous attention to detail to resolve customer inquiries rapidly and accurately.
  • • Escalate complex technical issues to laboratory technicians, bioinformatics specialists, and software teams, facilitating clear cross-functional collaboration.
  • • Maintain precise and comprehensive records of all customer interactions and support cases within the company’s CRM system.
  • • Provide actionable feedback to improve customer workflows, internal documentation, and overall user experience based on direct customer interactions.
  • • Support the expansion of Plasmidsaurus’ genomics services by helping customers navigate new offerings such as RNA-seq and other next-generation sequencing platforms.
  • • Work within a hybrid schedule: in-office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the Boston/Cambridge, MA location.
  • • Adhere to standard working hours of 8am to 4pm EST, Monday through Friday, with occasional, infrequent weekend coverage as needed.
  • • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless customer experiences across sequencing, bioinformatics, and software platforms.
  • • Contribute to a fast-paced startup environment by proactively identifying opportunities to prevent recurring issues and enhance system efficiency.
  • • Uphold the company’s mission to accelerate scientific discovery by enabling researchers with faster, simpler, and more affordable access to genomic data.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related field
  • • Experience in DNA sequencing, genomics, or molecular biology techniques
  • • Experience interacting with customers or users as the first point of contact, ideally handling high-volume requests
  • • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills
  • • Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate efficiently in a fast-paced environment
