- • As a Technical Writer at Vapi Technologies Inc., you will play a critical role in shaping the developer experience by ensuring product documentation is accurate, accessible, and aligned with rapid innovation—because at Vapi, documentation is not an afterthought but a core component of the product itself, directly impacting support efficiency, user activation, and engineering productivity.
- • You will own the end-to-end creation and maintenance of developer-facing documentation, including API references, quickstarts, guides, tutorials, knowledge base articles, and FAQs, treating documentation drift as a production issue and working closely with engineers, support, and product teams to keep information current in a fast-moving environment.
- • You will join a mission-driven team at Vapi, where the goal is to make voice the default interface for humanity, and where your work will directly influence how over 600k developers understand, adopt, and build with the platform—turning confusion into clarity and frustration into confidence.
- • You will build systems and processes to proactively identify outdated documentation, anticipate developer questions, and continuously improve the onboarding journey, with success measured by reduced support volume, faster time-to-first-build, and increased developer satisfaction.
- • You will have the opportunity to set the standard for excellence in technical documentation at Vapi, establishing benchmarks for clarity, accuracy, and usability that endure even as the platform evolves rapidly, and to grow into a trusted partner across engineering, product, and support organizations.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience writing technical documentation for developer audiences, including API references, SDK guides, or similar developer-facing content.
- • Hands-on experience using APIs and understanding core web concepts such as webhooks, POST requests, and RESTful services.
- • Ability to quickly learn and deeply understand complex technical concepts and translate them into clear, accurate, and engaging documentation.
- • Strong collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively with engineers, product managers, and support teams to gather information and validate accuracy.
- • A mindset that treats outdated or incorrect documentation as a urgent issue to be resolved, not a minor oversight.
- • Based in or willing to work from the San Francisco office, with appreciation for in-person collaboration and team culture.
