- • As a Technical Writer at Optro, you will play a critical role in transforming complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation that empowers customers to successfully adopt and use the company’s award-winning audit, risk, ESG, and InfoSec platform—directly contributing to customer satisfaction, product adoption, and reduced support burden.
- • You will act as a strategic bridge between engineering, product, and customer success teams, proactively engaging with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to extract deep technical knowledge and translate it into accessible, accurate, and brand-aligned content for the Optro Help Center, ensuring users—from developers to end users—receive the right information at the right time.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include rapidly mastering new products and complex technical architectures, writing and maintaining high-quality Help Center content such as user guides, troubleshooting articles, how-to tutorials, and FAQs, and leveraging AI-assisted writing tools and automation to scale documentation efforts without compromising quality or consistency.
- • You will organize and structure Help Center content to improve navigability and searchability, directly impacting product adoption and ticket deflection, while ensuring all documentation adheres to Optro’s brand voice and tone as a trusted "source of truth" for all users.
- • You will own the entire documentation lifecycle—from initial discovery with SMEs through drafting, review, publication, and ongoing maintenance—demonstrating end-to-end ownership and driving continuous improvement in documentation efficiency and effectiveness.
- • You will create visual communication assets such as infographics and diagrams to explain abstract workflows and technical processes, enhancing comprehension for diverse audiences and supporting self-service success.
- • You will collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environment, managing competing priorities and tight deadlines with resilience and initiative, while embodying Optro’s core values of customer obsession, gritty resilience, innovation, teamwork, and growth mindset.
- • You will contribute to Optro’s mission of being one of the 500 fastest-growing tech companies in North America by helping customers achieve greater clarity and agility in managing risk, compliance, and security through exceptional documentation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of proven experience in technical writing within a fast-paced SaaS technology environment
- • Strong experience with Zendesk as a primary content management system, with familiarity in Markdown, Git, or API documentation considered a plus
- • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and master complex technical architectures and translate them into clear, user-focused content
- • Experience or strong interest in leveraging Generative AI and automation tools to optimize the writing, editing, and formatting process
- • Proven stakeholder management skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with SMEs across engineering, product, and customer success teams while balancing competing priorities
- • Experience creating visual communication assets such as infographics or diagrams to explain abstract technical concepts and workflows
