- • Conduct audio or video patient intake appointments lasting 20–30 minutes to assess Medicare patients’ challenges and determine eligibility for patient advocacy services under Principal Illness Navigation and/or Community Health Integration principles.
- • Do not diagnose conditions or prescribe medications; focus solely on evaluating patient needs and alignment with advocacy services.
- • Collaborate closely with the technology team to develop and refine AI tools designed to enhance the clinical experience for Medicare patients.
- • Work primarily with senior Medicare patients, providing clinical oversight to ensure appropriate matching with Patient Advocates who assist with appointment booking, transportation, medical equipment ordering, and other care access needs.
- • Operate in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving workflows and rapid iteration.
- • Demonstrate deep commitment to improving healthcare access for the Medicare population through innovative, non-traditional care models.
- • Maintain strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with elderly patients, understand their concerns, and build trust during virtual interactions.
- • Quickly adapt to and learn new technologies, including telehealth platforms and AI-driven clinical tools.
- • Contribute to the development of scalable clinical processes that support the growth of UnderstoodCare’s patient advocacy model.
- • Maintain flexibility in weekly availability, with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week and preference for 30 hours.
- • Ensure compliance with Medicare enrollment requirements and maintain active licensure in an IMLC member state.
- • Bring a positive attitude and bias toward action, proactively identifying opportunities to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- • Leverage prior experience working with Medicare patients to inform clinical decision-making and service design.
- • Participate in ongoing feedback loops with Patient Advocates and technology teams to refine patient intake protocols and AI tool functionality.
- • Remain aligned with UnderstoodCare’s mission of bridging healthcare gaps for seniors through personalized, non-clinical support systems.
🎯 Requirements
- • Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatrics
- • Active licensure in an IMLC member state (AL, AZ, CO, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NJ, ND, OH, OK, PA, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, WA, WV, WI, WY, GU)
- • Valid PTAN/PECOS account (Medicare enrollment and registration)
