- • A temporary senior video editor role focused on shaping the visual identity of NPR’s influential podcasts It’s Been a Minute and Code Switch, translating audio-first journalism into compelling video for digital platforms.
- • Lead long-form and short-form video production, supporting showrunners and hosts while collaborating with the NPR Visuals team to ensure visual storytelling aligns with editorial standards.
- • Work within NPR’s Editorial division, upholding journalistic integrity, ethical standards, and non-partisan judgment as outlined in the NPR Ethics Handbook.
- • Contribute to a mission-driven, inclusive organization that values collaboration, diverse voices, and social responsibility in reaching millions through multimedia storytelling.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional video production experience in a major newsroom, studio, or creative agency with a portfolio in culture-focused journalism.
- • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop) and fluency in Riverside, Descript, and Canva.
- • Deep understanding of video distribution strategies for YouTube, Spotify, Instagram, and TikTok, including copyright and fair-use best practices.
- • Demonstrated ability in cinematography, lighting, photography, and motion graphics execution.
- • Proven collaborative communication skills to manage project goals and work effectively under tight deadlines with diverse teams.
- • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
