- • As a Title Examiner (NYC) (Remote) at First American Financial Corporation, you will play a critical role in ensuring the legal integrity of property titles by examining public records and verifying ownership, liens, and encumbrances—directly supporting secure real estate transactions across the nation. Your meticulous work protects homebuyers, lenders, and title companies from financial and legal risk, making you an essential contributor to the stability of the housing market.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include performing title examinations on a wide range of residential title orders, abstracting and analyzing recorded documents such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat maps to determine ownership and legal restrictions, resolving discrepancies in title documentation by investigating missing, incomplete, or contradictory information, preparing initial title commitment documentation in accordance with procedural guidelines, reviewing reports for accuracy and completeness, and providing underwriting interpretation within established company guidelines when appropriate.

🎯 Requirements
- • High school diploma or equivalent
- • Typically requires 2+ years of directly related experience in title examination, abstracting, or a related real estate or legal support role
- • State license(s) if required by jurisdiction (e.g., New York State title insurance producer license or equivalent)
