- • Megaport is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Treasury Officer to join our dynamic global finance team, based in our Brisbane headquarters. This pivotal role is instrumental in supporting the seamless execution of our day-to-day treasury operations, ensuring the financial health and liquidity of our rapidly expanding international organization.
- • As a Treasury Officer, you will be at the forefront of managing critical treasury functions, including meticulous cash flow forecasting and management. This involves analyzing historical data, identifying trends, and developing accurate short-term and long-term cash flow projections to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs and strategic investments across the entire Megaport group.
- • A core responsibility will be the vigilant monitoring of group liquidity. You will be tasked with tracking cash balances across various bank accounts globally, identifying potential shortfalls or surpluses, and recommending appropriate actions to optimize cash utilization and minimize financing costs. This proactive approach to liquidity management is vital for maintaining financial stability and supporting business growth.
- • The role also encompasses comprehensive banking administration. You will be responsible for managing relationships with our global banking partners, opening and closing bank accounts, ensuring compliance with banking covenants, and maintaining accurate records of all banking activities. This includes liaising with banks to resolve queries, facilitate transactions, and ensure optimal banking arrangements are in place.
- • A significant aspect of your contribution will be the accurate and timely execution of payments. You will process various types of payments, including supplier payments, intercompany transfers, and payroll disbursements, ensuring adherence to internal controls, authorization policies, and regulatory requirements. This demands a high level of accuracy and a commitment to security protocols.
- • You will play a key role in supporting the broader finance team with treasury-related reporting requirements. This includes preparing regular treasury reports for senior management, highlighting key metrics such as cash positions, liquidity ratios, and foreign exchange exposures. Your insights will contribute to informed decision-making at the executive level.
- • The Treasury Officer will also be involved in foreign exchange management, assisting with the execution of foreign currency transactions, monitoring exchange rate movements, and supporting hedging strategies to mitigate currency risk. This exposure to international finance is a key element of the role.
- • Furthermore, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of treasury processes and systems. We encourage a proactive mindset, and you will be empowered to identify inefficiencies, suggest practical solutions, and assist in the implementation of process enhancements to streamline operations, reduce manual effort, and minimize recurring issues.
- • Collaboration is key in this role. You will work closely with various internal stakeholders, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the wider finance team, to ensure smooth financial operations. You will also build and maintain strong working relationships with our external banking partners, acting as a key point of contact for treasury-related matters.
- • This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional development within a fast-paced, innovative, and globally recognized technology company. You will gain hands-on experience in a wide range of treasury functions and contribute directly to the financial success of Megaport.
- • A flexible, team-focused approach is essential. You will be expected to readily assist colleagues during peak periods and demonstrate a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and business needs. Your ability to work effectively within a team environment and contribute to a positive workplace culture will be highly valued.
- • The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving. A genuine willingness to learn and develop within the treasury field is paramount, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively in a dynamic setting.
- • This role is more than just transactional; it's about contributing to the strategic financial operations of a leading Network as a Service provider, ensuring Megaport has the financial agility to continue its global expansion and innovation.
