- • Lead end-to-end user acquisition strategy for Japan, identifying growth opportunities and market trends specific to the Japanese mobile app and gaming ecosystem.
- • Plan, execute, and optimize large-scale UA campaigns across local platforms including Naver, Line, Google Ads, Unity, Moloco, DSPs, Game Media, and CTV, ensuring alignment with regional advertising norms and consumer behavior.
- • Conduct in-depth data analysis of campaign performance using KPIs to maximize ROAS, refining targeting, bidding strategies, and budget allocation based on real-time insights.
- • Design and run continuous A/B tests on creatives, ad copy, and audience segments to improve performance, ensuring cultural relevance and resonance with Japanese users.
- • Manage relationships with existing ad partners and agencies, while proactively identifying and onboarding new platforms and technologies to expand reach and efficiency in the Japanese market.
- • Collaborate closely with Creative, Product, Localization, Sales, and Data teams to align UA initiatives with broader company goals and ensure localized messaging and product positioning.
- • Generate and present comprehensive performance reports to stakeholders, translating complex data into clear strategic recommendations and actionable next steps.
- • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging mobile advertising technologies, regulatory changes, and evolving UA trends within Japan’s digital landscape.
- • Operate with full ownership of Japan UA budget, balancing strategic planning with hands-on campaign execution across multiple channels.
- • Utilize mobile attribution tools such as AppsFlyer and Adjust to track user journeys, measure campaign effectiveness, and ensure accurate performance measurement across platforms.
- • Implement SDK networks and reward platform integrations to optimize user acquisition quality and retention in Japan’s highly competitive app market.
- • Ensure all UA efforts comply with local advertising standards and cultural expectations, adapting global strategies to fit regional preferences without compromising performance goals.
- • Drive innovation in user acquisition by testing novel formats, partnerships, and media channels unique to Japan’s mobile advertising ecosystem.
- • Maintain detailed documentation of campaign setups, optimizations, and learnings to enable scalability and knowledge sharing across global teams.
- • Serve as the primary point of contact for all Japan-specific UA matters, coordinating internally and externally to deliver consistent, data-backed growth outcomes.
- • Monitor competitor activity and market shifts in Japan to inform proactive strategy adjustments and maintain Almedia’s competitive edge in the region.
- • Contribute to global UA best practices by sharing insights from the Japanese market and integrating learnings into international campaigns.
- • Operate in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment with direct accountability for revenue-driving results and scalability of user acquisition systems.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years in mobile user acquisition or performance marketing with a proven track record of driving results and managing substantial budgets
- • In-depth knowledge of the digital advertising landscape and UA best practices in Japan
- • Fluency in English and Japanese is required
- • Hands-on expertise with major platforms (Naver, Line, Google Ads, Unity, Moloco) and familiarity with mobile attribution tools (e.g., AppsFlyer, Adjust)
- • Exceptional analytical skills to interpret large datasets and translate insights into actionable strategies
- • Ability to formulate comprehensive UA strategies while maintaining a hands-on approach to daily execution
