📋 Description

• • As an Underwriter at Stewart Title Guaranty Company, you will ensure accountable decisions are taken at the right level in the organization and that individuals making decisions are suitably informed about the level of legal risk on all legal-related matters. You will represent plaintiffs and defendants in civil cases and manage all phases of the litigation process from investigation, pleadings and discovery to pre-trial, trial, settlement and appeal.
• • Day to day, you will review and evaluate title searches and insurance risk factors, justify and communicate underwriting requirements to counsel for buyers, sellers and lenders, evaluate risk and exposures to determine acceptability of business, determine premiums, terms and conditions based on established rules, rates and guidelines, analyze data such as financial conditions, participation percentage, industry type, employee group characteristics, or past claim experience, perform assignments and lead projects within your discipline, apply working knowledge of business and best practices, work within broad guidelines to accomplish objectives, solve moderately complex to complex problems using technical experience and judgment, explain complex information clearly, act as a resource for colleagues, guide less experienced team members, and perform other duties as assigned.
