- • As a US Tax Preparer based in South Africa, you will be the foundation of every clean tax return, preparing federal and state filings across major entity types and ensuring returns are review-ready on the first pass by chasing down missing information and maintaining meticulous documentation.
- • You will own the preparation stage of a two-step tax workflow, building complete and well-documented returns including 1040s, 1120s, 1120-S, and 1065s, managing state filings, schedules, K-1s, depreciation, basis tracking, and carryforwards, while rolling forward prior-year returns and mapping trial balances to current-year workplans.
- • You will communicate directly with clients to request documents and clarify details, partner with U.S.-based teammates on tax treatment decisions, and work in Drake tax software and a proprietary internal platform (with training provided) to manage multiple client files without losing context.
- • You will leave a clear audit trail through organized folders, consistent naming, and complete documentation so reviewers can trace every number to its source, ensuring data integrity and quality in every return you prepare.
🎯 Requirements
- • Demonstrated experience preparing U.S. tax returns across 1040, 1120, 1120-S, and 1065
- • Familiarity with state tax filings across multiple jurisdictions
- • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client files simultaneously
- • Effective written communication skills for client-facing and internal correspondence
- • Experience with Drake tax software preferred
- • Confident written and spoken English
- • Comfortable working U.S. business hours (night shift, South Africa-based)
