- • Join Fundraise Up as a UX Researcher and play a pivotal role in elevating the quality, speed, and impact of our product research initiatives. You will be instrumental in shaping high-trust donation and fundraising experiences that empower nonprofits to amplify their impact globally.
- • This role offers a unique blend of classic UX research methodologies and Product Discovery, delving into new markets, segments, and innovative product opportunities. You will navigate both B2C donor-facing experiences and B2B nonprofit/organization-facing workflows, providing comprehensive user insights across our diverse platform.
- • You will own research initiatives from conception to completion, taking a quarterly plan item and driving it end-to-end. This includes defining the research brief, meticulously crafting the methodology, conducting the research sessions, performing rigorous analysis, synthesizing findings, presenting actionable insights, and actively pushing for their implementation.
- • A key aspect of this role is your ability to select the most appropriate research method for each unique challenge. Whether it's conducting in-depth interviews, usability tests, concept validation, surveys, leveraging desk research, or performing competitive analyses, your judgment will be crucial in aligning the method with the level of uncertainty, business objectives, and project timelines.
- • You will be responsible for setting up the operational mechanics of research, including accessing necessary tools and data, managing participant scheduling and confirmations, coordinating session logistics, and ensuring thorough note-taking and recording. This requires a high degree of autonomy and proactive problem-solving.
- • Act as the central point of connection across various teams, proactively gathering hypotheses and contextual information from Sales, Customer Success, Support, Marketing, and Analytics departments. Your role will be to translate these inputs into well-defined, testable research questions that drive meaningful product improvements.
- • You will maintain a close working relationship with our product analytics function. This involves monitoring dashboards and reports, collaborating with analysts to identify anomalies or user drop-off points, formulating hypotheses based on data, and prioritizing these for validation through dedicated research studies.
- • Your output will be designed for immediate usability and impact. You will deliver clear key findings, facilitate decision-making, highlight trade-offs and risks, and provide concrete, evidence-based recommendations supported by compelling user quotes, video clips, and relevant metrics.
- • Maintain an internal knowledge base by regularly reviewing existing research, past studies, and competitor insights. Synthesize this information to build a comprehensive understanding of what is already known, ensuring that new research efforts are strategic and avoid redundant efforts.
- • Champion the voice of the user, ensuring that their needs, pain points, and constraints are consistently represented and prioritized in product development decisions, moving beyond subjective opinions to data-driven user advocacy.
- • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning by staying abreast of the latest UX research trends, tools, and best practices. You will be encouraged to share your knowledge and findings with the wider product team, fostering a shared understanding of user needs and market dynamics.

- • Understand and contribute to the development of products serving enterprise clients across North America, the UK, Australia, and Europe, gaining insights into the unique needs of these markets.
- • Leverage AI tools to enhance research efficiency, from drafting survey questions and generating summaries to tagging qualitative data and identifying themes. However, you will maintain critical human judgment and methodological rigor where it counts most, ensuring the integrity and depth of your research.
- • Develop and maintain a 'research radar' for the team, scanning internal learnings, competitor activities, and high-signal UX/product sources. Regularly share synthesized updates to keep the team informed, current, and aware of potential blind spots.
- • Bring exceptional empathy and care to your work, recognizing that our users are nonprofits and donors – individuals dedicated to doing good. Approach all participant interactions with the utmost respect, sensitivity, and adherence to high ethical standards.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in independently managing and executing research initiatives from inception to completion with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
- • A strong and adaptable methodological toolkit, coupled with sound judgment to select the most appropriate research method based on business goals, timelines, and levels of uncertainty, with the ability to clearly articulate trade-offs.
- • Demonstrated experience conducting research across both B2C and B2B product contexts and engaging with diverse user audiences.
- • Fluent proficiency in English, both written and spoken, as all research activities and presentations will be conducted in English.
- • Ability to work effectively with product analytics, including reading dashboards, identifying anomalies or drop-off points, formulating hypotheses, and validating them through research. Experience with tools like PostHog or Tableau is a significant plus.
- • Proactive engagement in collecting input from cross-functional teams such as Sales, Customer Success, Support, Marketing, and Analytics, and translating this information into actionable, testable research questions.
- • A commitment to maintaining a high bar for research quality, employing structured methodologies and upholding ethical research practices.
- • Self-sufficiency in managing research logistics, including participant recruitment using relevant platforms, scheduling, confirmations, and tool setup.
- • Experience utilizing AI tools to enhance research operations and synthesis, while retaining critical human judgment and methodological rigor.
- • A foundational understanding of marketing principles and terminology and how they relate to research and insights.
- • The capacity to act as a source of new knowledge for the team by maintaining a 'research radar' and sharing regular updates on internal learnings, market trends, and competitor activities.
