- • Join Fundraise Up as a UX Researcher, a pivotal role within our Product Research Team, dedicated to elevating the quality, speed, and strategic impact of research across our entire product suite. This position is instrumental in shaping high-trust donation and fundraising experiences that empower nonprofits to amplify their global impact.
- • This role uniquely blends classic UX research methodologies with the dynamic demands of Product Discovery, exploring new markets, diverse segments, and untapped product opportunities. You will navigate both B2C and B2B landscapes, contributing to the enhancement of donor-facing experiences (B2C) and the optimization of nonprofit/organization-facing workflows (B2B).
- • As a UX Researcher, you will be empowered to take full ownership of research initiatives, from their inception within the quarterly plan to their successful conclusion. This end-to-end process involves defining the research brief, meticulously crafting the methodology, executing the research, conducting thorough analysis, synthesizing findings, presenting actionable insights, and driving the implementation of recommendations.
- • Your expertise will be crucial in selecting the most appropriate research methods for each unique challenge. Whether it's conducting in-depth interviews, performing usability tests, validating concepts through concept tests, deploying surveys, undertaking desk research, or executing competitive scans, your judgment will be guided by the level of uncertainty, overarching business objectives, and project timelines.
- • You will be responsible for setting up and managing the logistical aspects of research studies. This includes securing access to necessary tools and data, coordinating participant scheduling and confirmations, managing session logistics, ensuring accurate note-taking, handling recordings, and maintaining comprehensive documentation, all with a high degree of autonomy.
- • A key aspect of this role is acting as the central hub for cross-team collaboration. You will proactively gather hypotheses, context, and insights from various departments, including Sales, Customer Success, Support, Marketing, and Analytics. Your ability to translate this diverse input into well-defined, testable research questions will be paramount.
- • You will maintain a close relationship with product analytics, actively monitoring dashboards and reports. Collaborating with data analysts, you will identify anomalies and user drop-offs, formulate hypotheses based on these observations, and prioritize research efforts to validate these hypotheses.
- • Your output will be designed for immediate impact and usability. You will deliver clear, concise findings, well-reasoned decisions, identified trade-offs, potential risks, and actionable recommendations, all rigorously supported by compelling evidence such as direct user quotes, video clips, and relevant metrics.
- • Maintaining an internal knowledge base is vital. You will regularly review existing research, past studies, and competitor insights to synthesize what is already known, ensuring that new research initiatives build upon existing knowledge and avoid redundancy.
- • You will serve as the advocate for our users, ensuring their needs, behaviors, and constraints are consistently represented and prioritized in product development decisions, moving beyond subjective opinions to data-driven understanding.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience running research initiatives end-to-end with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.
- • Strong methodological toolkit and excellent judgment, with the ability to select the most appropriate research method for a given question, considering business goals, timelines, and uncertainty, and clearly articulate the trade-offs involved.
- • Demonstrated experience working across both B2C and B2B products and understanding diverse user audiences.
- • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, as all participant interactions and internal presentations will be conducted in English.
- • Ability to work effectively with product analytics, including reading dashboards, identifying anomalies and drop-offs, forming hypotheses, and validating them through research. Experience with tools like PostHog or Tableau is a plus.
- • Proactive in collecting input from Sales, Customer Success, Support, Marketing, and Analytics teams, and translating this information into testable research questions.
- • Commitment to maintaining a high bar for research quality, employing structured methodologies and adhering to ethical research practices.
- • Proficiency in using recruiting platforms and independently managing all research logistics, including participant access, scheduling, confirmations, and tool setup.
- • Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance operational efficiency and synthesis (e.g., for generating guides, processing notes, identifying themes, drafting survey questions, creating summaries) while retaining critical human judgment and methodological rigor.
- • A solid understanding of core marketing terms and how they influence research design and insight interpretation, even if not a marketing professional.
- • Ability to act as a source of new knowledge for the team by maintaining a "research radar" of internal learnings, market/competitor movements, and high-signal UX/product trends, sharing regular updates to keep the team informed and mitigate blind spots.
