  • • Join Fundraise Up as a UX Researcher and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our global fundraising platform. You will be instrumental in elevating the quality, speed, and impact of research across our entire product suite, driving data-informed decisions and fostering a deeper understanding of our users.
  • • This role offers a unique blend of classic UX research methodologies and strategic product discovery. You will delve into new markets, explore emerging segments, and uncover innovative product opportunities, contributing to both donor-facing experiences (B2C) and the critical workflows of nonprofit organizations (B2B).
  • • As a UX Researcher, you will own research initiatives from inception to implementation. This involves taking a project from the quarterly plan, defining the research brief, meticulously crafting the methodology, conducting the research itself, performing thorough analysis, synthesizing findings, presenting actionable insights, and ultimately driving the implementation of recommendations.
  • • You will be empowered to select the most appropriate research methods for each challenge. Whether it's conducting in-depth interviews, performing usability tests, validating concepts, deploying surveys, undertaking desk research, or executing competitive scans, your judgment will be key in choosing the right approach based on the level of uncertainty, overarching business objectives, and project timelines.
  • • A significant aspect of this role involves setting up and managing the logistical aspects of research. This includes securing access to necessary tools and data, coordinating participant recruitment and scheduling, managing session logistics, ensuring effective note-taking and recording, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. You will be expected to manage these operational elements with a high degree of autonomy.
  • • You will act as a crucial connector across various internal teams, serving as the 'glue' that binds research efforts to broader business objectives. Proactively gather hypotheses, insights, and contextual information from Sales, Customer Success, Support, Marketing, and Analytics teams. Your role will be to translate this diverse input into well-defined, testable research questions that address critical business uncertainties.
  • • Maintaining a close connection with product analytics is essential. You will monitor dashboards and reports, collaborate with data analysts to identify anomalies and user drop-off points, formulate hypotheses based on these observations, and prioritize research efforts to validate these hypotheses.
  • • Your output will be designed for immediate impact and usability. You will deliver clear, concise findings, well-reasoned decisions, identified trade-offs, potential risks, and actionable recommendations, all supported by robust evidence such as direct user quotes, video clips, and relevant metrics.
  • • Cultivate an internal understanding of existing knowledge by regularly reviewing past research, previous studies, competitor insights, and industry trends. Synthesize this information to build upon what is already known, ensuring that new research initiatives are strategic and avoid duplicating efforts.
  • • Champion the voice of the user within the organization. You will be the primary advocate for user needs, pain points, and constraints, ensuring they are consistently represented and prioritized in product development decisions, moving beyond subjective opinions to evidence-based insights.
  • • Contribute to the team's collective knowledge by maintaining a 'research radar.' This involves monitoring internal learnings, tracking market and competitor movements, and staying abreast of high-signal UX and product developments. You will share regular updates to keep the team informed, current, and aware of potential blind spots.
  • • Bring exceptional empathy and a deep care for people to your work. Our users are nonprofits and donors—individuals dedicated to making a positive impact. You will approach all participant interactions with the utmost respect, sensitivity, and adherence to the highest ethical standards, reflecting the values of our mission.
  • • Leverage AI tools strategically to enhance operational efficiency and accelerate synthesis. This includes utilizing AI for drafting research guides, transcribing and tagging notes, identifying themes, generating survey drafts, and creating summaries. However, you will maintain critical human judgment and methodological rigor where it is most needed to ensure the integrity and validity of the research.
  • • While not expected to be a marketing expert, you should possess a solid understanding of core marketing terms and how they influence user behavior, research design, and the interpretation of insights, particularly within the nonprofit sector.
