đź“‹ Description
- • Join Fundraise Up as a UX Researcher and play a pivotal role in shaping exceptional donation and fundraising experiences that empower nonprofits to amplify their impact globally. You will be an integral part of our Product Research Team, driving improvements in the quality, speed, and strategic decision-making capabilities of our research initiatives across the entire product lifecycle.
- • This dynamic role seamlessly blends classic UX research methodologies with the strategic demands of Product Discovery, enabling you to explore new markets, identify emerging segments, and uncover innovative product opportunities. You will navigate both B2C and B2B landscapes, contributing to the enhancement of donor-facing experiences (B2C) and the optimization of nonprofit/organization-facing workflows (B2B).
- • You will be empowered to take ownership of research initiatives from conception to completion. This involves managing the entire process, starting with an intake brief, meticulously crafting research methodologies, conducting rigorous research, performing in-depth analysis, synthesizing findings, presenting actionable insights to stakeholders, and ultimately driving the implementation of resulting actions.
- • A key aspect of your role will be to exercise sound judgment in selecting the most appropriate research methods. Whether it's conducting in-depth interviews, usability tests, concept validation, surveys, leveraging desk research, or performing competitive analyses, your choice will be guided by the level of uncertainty, overarching business objectives, and project timelines. You will be adept at articulating the trade-offs associated with each methodological choice.
- • You will be responsible for setting up and managing the operational mechanics of research studies. This includes ensuring access to necessary tools and data, coordinating participant recruitment and scheduling, managing session logistics, facilitating note-taking, handling recordings, and maintaining comprehensive documentation, all with a high degree of autonomy and minimal oversight.
- • Acting as a crucial cross-team connector, you will proactively gather hypotheses, context, and insights from various departments including Sales, Customer Success, Support, Marketing, and Analytics. You will then translate this valuable input into well-defined, testable research questions that address critical business needs.
- • You will maintain a close connection with product analytics, diligently monitoring dashboards and reports. Collaborating with data analysts, you will identify anomalies and drop-off points, formulate hypotheses based on these observations, and prioritize research efforts to validate these hypotheses.
- • Your output will be designed for immediate usability and impact. You will deliver clear and concise key findings, well-reasoned decisions, identified trade-offs, potential risks, and actionable recommendations, all supported by compelling evidence such as direct user quotes, video clips, and relevant metrics.
- • Maintaining an internal pulse on existing knowledge is vital. You will regularly review prior research, past studies, and competitor insights to synthesize existing information, ensuring that new research efforts build upon established knowledge and avoid redundancy.
- • You will serve as the primary advocate for our users, ensuring their needs, behaviors, and constraints are consistently represented and prioritized in product development decisions, moving beyond mere opinions to data-driven insights.
- • Embrace and leverage AI tools to enhance operational efficiency and accelerate synthesis processes. This includes utilizing AI for generating guides, transcribing notes, identifying themes, drafting survey questions, and summarizing findings, while always maintaining your critical human judgment and methodological rigor where it is most crucial.
- • You will be expected to develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of core marketing terms and concepts and how they influence research design and the interpretation of insights, even if you are not a marketing specialist.
- • Act as a continuous source of new knowledge for the team by maintaining a “research radar.” This involves monitoring internal learnings, tracking market and competitor movements, and staying abreast of high-signal UX and product trends. You will then share regular updates to keep the team informed, current, and aware of potential blind spots.
- • Bring exceptional empathy and a genuine care for people to your work. Our users are nonprofits and donors—individuals dedicated to making a positive difference in the world. You will approach all participant interactions with the utmost respect, sensitivity, and adherence to the highest ethical standards.
- • Contribute to the growth and development of the research practice within Fundraise Up, potentially through mentoring junior team members, leading workshops, or contributing to onboarding processes, sharing your expertise and passion for user research.
- • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to ensure research findings are effectively integrated into the product development roadmap, fostering a shared understanding of user needs and driving user-centered innovation.
- • Proactively identify opportunities for research beyond immediate project requests, anticipating future user needs and potential product challenges based on market trends and business strategy.
- • Champion a data-informed culture across the organization, educating stakeholders on the value and application of user research in making strategic product decisions.
- • Contribute to the development and refinement of our research repository, ensuring that insights are organized, accessible, and leveraged effectively across the product organization.
- • Continuously seek opportunities to improve research processes and methodologies, staying current with advancements in the field of UX research and adapting best practices to the Fundraise Up context.
