- • Serve as a strategic advisor to the office of the CFO in private equity-backed portfolio companies, focusing on finance transformation initiatives including capability and maturity assessments, operating model design, and technology optimization roadmaps.
- • Lead end-to-end improvements in core financial processes such as order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, and FP&A to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase shareholder value.
- • Design and implement KPI dashboards and tracking tools to enable data-driven decision-making and improve financial reporting accuracy and speed.
- • Manage multiple concurrent client engagements, ensuring project timelines are met, client expectations are managed, and course corrections are executed as needed.
- • Build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives at portfolio companies and representatives from private equity sponsors.
- • Drive business development activities by identifying new opportunities, expanding client relationships, and contributing to the growth of Accordion’s European footprint.
- • Sponsor and lead internal initiatives to strengthen practice capabilities, improve service delivery, and foster a collaborative culture within the London office.
- • Conduct financial and operational assessments to identify inefficiencies and recommend actionable improvements aligned with private equity value creation goals.
- • Advise on finance automation and technology deployment strategies to modernize finance functions and enable scalability.
- • Travel extensively across Europe to support client engagements in various jurisdictions, with flexibility to work remotely 1–2 days per week from the London office.
- • Mentor and guide junior team members, leading by example in client service, problem-solving, and professional development.
- • Communicate complex financial and operational concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, escalating critical issues to senior leadership when necessary.
- • Balance hands-on execution of project workstreams with overall project management responsibilities, maintaining focus on both granular details and strategic outcomes.
- • Demonstrate deep expertise in strategic finance best practices, particularly in the professionalization of finance functions within private equity portfolios.
- • Operate with an entrepreneurial mindset in a flat, high-growth organization, contributing to the scaling of Accordion’s presence in Europe while leveraging global firm resources.
- • Maintain strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint to develop client deliverables, financial models, and presentation materials.
- • Uphold a client service mindset focused on delivering exceptional value and building long-term trust with private equity sponsors and portfolio company leadership.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA is a plus
- • Minimum 6+ years of client-serving experience at a top-tier public accounting or financial advisory firm, or senior-level experience combining client service and private industry
- • Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, navigating both client/sponsor dynamics and internal team coordination
- • Subject matter expertise in financial business processes including order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, and FP&A
- • Extensive experience designing and implementing finance transformation strategies, including technology deployment and process automation
- • Demonstrated experience working with private equity firms and understanding their unique consulting requirements
