Vice President (Manager), Operational & Technical Accounting

📋 Description

• • Lead cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve complex accounting and operational challenges for private equity-backed portfolio companies.
• • Perform deep-dive assessments of current-state financial processes, systems, and controls to identify root causes of inefficiencies and control gaps.
• • Design and implement improved accounting policies, procedures, and organizational structures aligned with US GAAP and industry best practices.
• • Execute technical accounting engagements including ASC 606 revenue recognition, lease accounting (ASC 842), purchase accounting, and carve-out/merger accounting.
• • Lead the transition of cash-basis financial reporting to full US GAAP compliance, including preparation of financial statements, account reconciliations, and audit-ready schedules.
• • Design and implement standardized chart of accounts, close calendars, materiality thresholds, and close checklists to accelerate financial reporting cycles.
• • Select, implement, and champion ERP and financial systems to support consolidated operations across multiple acquired entities.
• • Consolidate disparate financial reporting systems into a single source of truth, aligning accounting policies and eliminating inconsistencies across entities.
• • Manage end-to-end audit readiness initiatives, coordinating timelines, documentation, and client communications during external audit engagements.
• • Advise clients on financial transformation initiatives, including transitioning from subscription-based models to SaaS revenue models with associated accounting implications.
• • Develop and deliver client presentations using PowerPoint and Excel to communicate findings, recommendations, and implementation roadmaps.
• • Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within the Operational & Technical Accounting practice.
• • Travel to client sites as needed to support on-site engagements, while maintaining a hybrid work model with two remote days per week.
• • Collaborate with private equity sponsors and CFOs to align financial operations with investment thesis objectives and value creation strategies.
• • Drive process improvements that reduce manual effort, enhance accuracy, and free up finance teams to focus on strategic decision-making.
• • Maintain up-to-date expertise in US GAAP standards and emerging accounting issues impacting private equity portfolio companies.
• • Manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously, balancing hands-on execution with project leadership responsibilities.
• • Act as a trusted advisor to clients by translating complex accounting concepts into actionable, business-oriented solutions.
