Vice President, Medical and Scientific Affairs

📋 Description

• • The Vice President, Medical and Scientific Affairs will lead the strategic development, execution, and management of global medical affairs functions for investigational and marketed products, playing a critical role in advancing novel therapies in oncology, urology, women’s health, rare diseases, cell & gene therapies, and CNS.
• • Day-to-day responsibilities include engaging with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and external stakeholders, traveling up to 30% of the time for field interactions, overseeing HEOR data generation, payer engagement, medical education strategy, publication planning, and managing the medical affairs budget and team.
• • The role is based at Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc., the U.S. arm of Sumitomo Pharma Co., Ltd., a global pharmaceutical company headquartered in Japan with a strong pipeline and marketed portfolio focused on innovative therapies addressing high unmet medical needs.
• • The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape global medical affairs strategy, build scientific partnerships with KOLs and medical societies, drive data generation aligned with corporate priorities, mentor and develop a high-performing team, and directly influence product lifecycle success and patient access through evidence-based medical and scientific leadership.
