📋 Description

• As a Video Tutor at xAI Corporation, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s mission to create AI systems that understand the universe by training and refining Grok’s ability to interpret and generate video content with technical precision. Your expertise in video editing, motion graphics, and VFX will directly contribute to enhancing the model’s comprehension of motion, timing, transitions, and visual storytelling—making this role essential to pushing the boundaries of multimodal AI.
• Day to day, you will use proprietary software to label, annotate, and provide inputs on video and multimedia projects, ensuring high-quality curated data that captures the nuances of motion graphics, compositing, and visual effects. You will critically analyze video sequences for technical effectiveness, deliver feedback on narrative flow and pacing, and collaborate with AI training teams to improve Grok’s understanding of cinematic language and post-production techniques.
• You will join a small, highly motivated, and flat-organized team at xAI where initiative, hands-on contribution, and engineering excellence are valued above hierarchy. • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in AI-driven video generation workflows, gain exposure to cutting-edge tools like Grok Imagine, Runway, and Sora, and refine your ability to bridge creative video production with technical AI training. You’ll develop rare interdisciplinary skills at the intersection of post-production artistry and machine learning, positioning yourself at the forefront of the evolving AI media landscape.

🎯 Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating excellence in video work, including edited shorts, motion graphics, VFX breakdowns, compositing reels, or similar projects hosted on a personal website, YouTube, Vimeo, X (Twitter), ArtStation, or comparable platforms.
• Strong proficiency in video editing, pacing, color grading, and narrative flow, with hands-on experience using industry-standard tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, Nuke, or equivalent software.
• Ability to critically analyze and articulate what makes a video sequence succeed or fail from a technical standpoint, including evaluation of motion, timing, transitions, and visual effects.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills, enabling clear and concise knowledge sharing with teammates and stakeholders.
• Experience with compositing, rotoscoping, or motion tracking workflows is preferred.
• Familiarity with AI video generation tools (e.g., Grok Imagine, Runway, Kling, Sora, Veo) or 3D integration in video pipelines (matchmoving, CG compositing) is a plus.
