• • Violence Risk & Legal Response Lead at OpenAI, responsible for shaping industry-leading standards for how AI platforms address high-risk safety scenarios involving potential proactive disclosures to law enforcement for threats of violence.
• • Day-to-day responsibilities include establishing expert-informed thresholds for law enforcement referrals, advising on high-risk cases using behavioral threat assessment, engaging external experts (mental health, behavioral specialists, law enforcement), refining internal protocols for violence detection, representing OpenAI in external engagements, and collaborating with internal teams on model responses and threat detection efforts.
• • OpenAI's Legal team tackles innovative, fundamental legal issues in AI, comprising professionals from diverse fields including technology, privacy, IP, corporate, cybersecurity, employment, tax, regulatory, and litigation, working to further OpenAI's mission of ensuring AI benefits all of humanity.
• • In this role, you will shape global standards for violence risk assessment in AI, gain influence at the intersection of technology, law, and public safety, lead cross-functional and external expert collaborations, and build scalable, defensible frameworks that balance privacy, free speech, and human rights with proactive safety measures.
