- • Lead enterprise-wide procurement and supplier management strategy for Humana, overseeing $6B in annual spend and a global team of approximately 140 associates.
- • Set and evolve procurement strategy aligned with business priorities, transformation goals, and long-term enterprise value creation, ensuring alignment with C-suite and leadership teams.
- • Direct category management, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier governance with rigorous enterprise standards and accountability.
- • Advance digital procurement capabilities through AI-enabled sourcing tools, automation, and analytics to enhance speed, visibility, and decision quality.
- • Partner with C-suite executives and business leaders to align procurement initiatives with enterprise strategy, cost optimization, and transformation programs.
- • Represent procurement as a strategic advisor in senior leadership forums, committee discussions, and external partner engagements.
- • Establish and maintain robust frameworks for supplier due diligence, risk management, audit readiness, and compliance in collaboration with Legal, Finance, Technology, Privacy, and Enterprise Risk.
- • Proactively identify and mitigate supplier, operational, and geopolitical risks that could impact business continuity or enterprise performance.
- • Lead strategic supplier relationships, performance management, and executive oversight to drive innovation, resilience, service quality, and measurable value beyond contract execution.
- • Build and lead a high-performing, technology-enabled procurement organization with scalable processes, strong talent development, and a service-oriented culture.
- • Strengthen value measurement and user experience by partnering with Finance and other enterprise functions to support major strategic initiatives.
- • Embed supplier diversity, sustainability, and responsible procurement practices into all sourcing and supplier strategies to advance Humana’s ESG goals.
- • Drive procurement transformation initiatives, including supplier rationalization, process simplification, and modernization of legacy systems.
- • Negotiate complex commercial agreements with top-tier suppliers to achieve measurable financial and operational outcomes.
- • Elevate the strategic profile of procurement within the enterprise by demonstrating measurable impact through cost leadership, innovation, and risk mitigation.
- • Ensure all procurement activities comply with Humana’s policies and federal regulations, including affirmative action requirements under Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act and VEVRAA.
- • Occasional travel to Humana offices may be required for training, meetings, or strategic alignment sessions.
- • Maintain a 40-hour weekly schedule with flexibility to support enterprise-wide priorities and global supplier engagements.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, law, or a related field
- • 15+ years of progressive procurement, supplier management, or related operational leadership experience in large, complex organizations
- • Demonstrated success influencing senior executives and leading through both authority and collaboration
- • Strong experience in procurement transformation, digital enablement, and change leadership
- • Deep expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier governance, negotiations, and enterprise risk management
- • Track record of building talent, aligning stakeholders, and delivering financial and operational results
