- • Condor Software Inc. is at a pivotal moment, poised to revolutionize the financial infrastructure for the life sciences industry. We are building the financial intelligence layer that will power the next era of clinical development, connecting clinical operations, vendor activity, and financial signals into a single, real-time intelligence layer. This empowers R&D and finance leaders with unprecedented command over their organizations. Our pharma-native, AI-driven infrastructure is built to scale industry standards, enabling prediction, control, and execution across the most complex R&D environments globally.
- • Having moved past the concept-proving stage, Condor is now trusted by enterprise teams to manage critical operations and finance. The significant challenge ahead lies in scaling our proven solution to meet the growing demands of our users. As a high-growth Series A company backed by prominent institutional investors like Insight Partners, Felicis, and 645 Ventures, we are rapidly expanding our reach within Top 200 biopharma companies. This presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the foundational infrastructure that will ultimately shape how new therapies reach patients.
- • The VP of Finance role at Condor is a cornerstone leadership position, tasked with establishing and nurturing the financial operating discipline essential for a company defining a new category in life sciences. This is far more than a reporting function; it is about architecting how Condor scales with unwavering clarity, confidence, and control during a critical phase of growth, transitioning from demonstrating value to becoming indispensable.
- • As Condor's strategic finance leader, you will collaborate intimately with the CEO and the executive team to transform rapid growth into a sustainable and robust operating model. Your primary responsibilities will encompass company-wide financial planning and analysis (FP&A), integrating go-to-market strategies, product investment decisions, and hiring plans into a cohesive and actionable financial roadmap. A key objective is to ensure the company possesses a clear understanding of the tradeoffs being made and the rationale behind them.
- • Operating at the nexus of high-level strategy and day-to-day execution, you will develop and maintain a dynamic financial model that seamlessly integrates revenue, headcount, and cash flow in real-time. Your analytical insights and strategic guidance will directly influence Condor's resource allocation, burn rate management, runway optimization, and critical decision-making processes as we scale.
- • Equally important, you will be instrumental in setting the internal benchmark for financial clarity and discipline, mirroring the sophisticated platform Condor is developing for its customers. This role is designed for a finance leader who seeks genuine ownership, substantial influence, and the chance to play a pivotal role in shaping a company at a critical inflection point.
- • Key Responsibilities will include:
- • Building and Owning the Operating Model: You will own and continuously refine Condor's comprehensive financial model, encompassing revenue, headcount, operating expenses (opex), and cash flow. This model must serve as a practical, real-time decision-making tool, transcending its role as a mere board artifact.
- • Defining and Tracking Key Metrics: You will define, meticulously track, and report on core vertical SaaS metrics, including Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), Net Revenue Retention (NRR), Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) payback period, burn rate, sales productivity, and other critical performance indicators.
- • Forecasting and Pipeline Management: You will partner closely with RevOps and Sales leadership to develop accurate pipeline-to-bookings forecasts, reflecting both enterprise and SMB sales-led motions.
- • Supporting Growth and Fundraising: You will work directly with the CEO on all aspects of fundraising preparation, including crafting compelling investor narratives, developing sophisticated financial models, and assembling data room materials that meet the rigorous expectations of top-tier investors.
- • Board-Ready Reporting: You will prepare comprehensive, board-ready reporting packages that include clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), insightful analysis, and robust scenario planning, designed to withstand scrutiny from growth equity and institutional investors.
- • Strategic Planning Pressure-Testing: You will rigorously pressure-test go-to-market strategies and hiring plans against critical financial targets such as cash reserves, runway duration, and ARR growth.
- • Driving Cross-Functional Alignment: You will collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to inform headcount planning, assess return on investment (ROI), and prioritize strategic investments, determining what initiatives to fund, at what cost, and on what timeline.
- • Financial Framework for Sales and Marketing: You will provide Sales and Marketing teams with a finance-backed framework for setting quotas, defining territories, and determining investment levels.
- • Ensuring Data Integrity: You will ensure the company is tracking the most relevant KPIs and that the business intelligence surrounding these metrics is accurate, reliable, and readily accessible across the organization.
- • Building Scalable Finance Infrastructure: You will establish and mature core finance processes, including the forecasting cadence, budget-versus-actuals analysis, and fundamental financial controls.
- • Team Development: You will hire and manage accounting and FP&A support as the company scales, transitioning from a solo finance function to a robust team.
- • Reporting Ownership: You will own investor reporting and the development of internal dashboards as Condor continues its growth trajectory.
