  • • Directive Consulting LLC, a premier B2B performance marketing agency renowned for delivering tangible revenue growth through its proprietary Customer Generation methodology, is seeking a visionary and results-driven VP of Finance. We specialize in cutting through the marketing noise, focusing on driving pipeline, fueling SQLs, and scaling brands committed to significant growth. Our expertise spans Paid Media, SEO, CRO, RevOps, and Go-To-Market Strategy, building robust marketing engines that excel in SaaS and diverse B2B sectors. We operate at a rapid pace, think boldly, and strive for elite performance, attracting individuals who challenge the status quo and push boundaries to achieve exceptional campaign outcomes. If you are passionate about performance, thrive on solving complex challenges, and desire your work to have a meaningful impact, you will find a home with us.
  • • This pivotal role is responsible for the comprehensive financial health of the organization, encompassing historical accuracy, present-day operational insights, and future strategic planning. You will ensure that past financial records are meticulously accurate, and all tax and legal obligations for prior periods are diligently addressed. In the present, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill requests with insightful analysis and actionable recommendations. For the future, you will establish and maintain robust processes for an accurate financial model, safeguarding margins, preserving and growing cash reserves, and setting clear financial goals in partnership with department heads.
  • • Key responsibilities include overseeing a team of 4 direct reports (2 in accounting, 2 in IT), with the strategic opportunity to integrate a Financial Analyst within the first six months. You will manage an annual departmental budget of approximately $850,000. The company conducts financial planning twice annually (H1 & H2), operates on a bi-annual business cycle, and maintains a monthly reporting cadence. We are experiencing consistent month-over-month growth with strong EBITDA, presenting exciting opportunities for financial leadership.
  • • Top priorities for this role include transforming the finance department into a strategic powerhouse. This involves significantly strengthening our labor model, optimizing staffing and billable utilization, and implementing disciplined cost management to enhance direct margins and overall profitability. You will serve as a strong advocate for financial discipline with department heads, ensuring budgets are respected and underperformance is proactively identified and addressed. A critical focus will be developing a deep understanding and robust model of how growth investments influence EBITDA, ensuring optimal capital allocation. Furthermore, you will drive a significant improvement in tax planning strategies, leveraging our strong EBITDA to mitigate tax liabilities effectively. Building clear visibility into capital investments, supported by well-defined hypotheses regarding outcomes and timelines, is essential for balancing cash investment with EBITDA growth. Ultimately, you will construct a high-performance financial operating engine that amplifies visibility, reinforces margin discipline, and ensures scalability as we prepare the business for sustained long-term growth, incubation opportunities, and potential future capital events. This role is crucial in preparing the company for market engagement within the next 36 months, requiring seasoned financial leadership.
  • • Your responsibilities will span across several key areas:
  • • Accounting: Lead and hold the accounting team accountable for critical initiatives, including achieving a 5-day close cycle and standardizing reporting. Collaborate closely with our external CPA firm to ensure all tax and legal requirements are met within budget.
  • • Finance Management: Oversee the business's financial model and ensure timely, accurate reporting of budgets, actuals, and goals to peers, empowering them to effectively manage their departments and drive business growth. This includes approving offers, raises, and promotions to ensure alignment with company guidelines, and holding department leaders accountable for achieving margin expectations within their P&Ls to foster cash growth.
  • • Treasury Operations: Prioritize cash management, ensuring it is maintained at safe levels and continues to grow. This involves diligently monitoring Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes to minimize overdue receivables and escalating issues as necessary.
  • • Risk Management: Partner with insurance brokers to ensure all coverage requirements are met and promptly address any inquiries or claims.
  • • Legal Compliance: Liaise with our legal firm to ensure all corporate legal requirements are satisfied and any inquiries are handled efficiently.
  • • Corporate Development Support: Provide essential financial modeling and due diligence support to our investment arm, More Good Capital, on an as-needed basis, facilitating informed and strategic investments.
  • • Leadership & Accountability: Foster a culture of leadership, not just management. Build organizational structure, establish clear communication cadences, provide proactive support, and empower your team through concise expectation setting and clear communication, driving them towards achieving ambitious goals such as 55% Gross Margin and 24% Adjusted EBITDA.
