Symbiotic Inc. develops a restaking protocol that lets permissionless networks, called Actively Validated Services, borrow Ethereum’s pooled security by allowing ETH and liquid staking token holders to restake their collateral. The protocol is implemented as a set of smart contracts on Ethereum and provides programmable slashing, reward distribution, and opt-in delegation. It aims to reduce the capital cost of bootstrapping new decentralized services while maintaining cryptoeconomic security. Symbiotic was founded in 2024 and is backed by Paradigm and cyber.Fund; its team includes former members of Lido and other DeFi projects.
