- • As a Backend Engineer on Deel’s Calc Team, you will play a critical role in designing, maintaining, and developing backend calculation services that power legislative compliance, payroll, and HR functions for a global workforce spanning 150+ countries—directly impacting how millions of people get paid accurately and on time.
- • Your work will ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of core payroll infrastructure, supporting Deel’s mission to unlock global opportunity by enabling seamless, compliant, and timely compensation for workers worldwide.
- • Day to day, you will design, code, test, and maintain enterprise-level backend services using C#/.NET and .NET Core, with a strong emphasis on applying SOLID principles to build clean, maintainable, and extensible systems.
- • You will collaborate closely with frontend, full-stack, product, design, and QA teams throughout the entire software development lifecycle—from discovery and planning to deployment and post-release monitoring—to deliver robust features and APIs.
- • You will optimize database interactions using MS-SQL and tools like Dapper, ensuring high throughput and accuracy in calculation engines that process complex legislative rules across jurisdictions.
- • You will participate in code reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and help drive improvements in system performance, memory management, and concurrency—leveraging experience with multi-threaded code, Redis caching, and Windows Services where applicable.
- • You will work within a remote-first, globally distributed team of over 7,000 people across 100+ countries, embracing Deel’s culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous learning while contributing to a product used by thousands of businesses.
- • You will gain deep expertise in FinTech and global payroll systems, positioning yourself as a leader in the transformation of work by solving real-world problems that impact customer trust, compliance, and operational efficiency at scale.
🎯 Requirements
- • Expert knowledge of the latest versions of C#/.NET and .NET Core
- • Strong understanding of MS-SQL and experience with Dapper or similar ORMs
- • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer
