Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • As a (Junior) Invoicing & Claims Expert – Repair Cost Calculation at roadsurfer GmbH, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial accuracy and integrity of vehicle damage claims, directly supporting the company’s ability to recover costs efficiently and maintain strong relationships with insurers, customers, and third parties. Your work ensures that every repair invoice is precise, compliant, and audit-ready, safeguarding revenue and minimizing financial leakage in a fast-growing, innovative mobility company.
- • You will manage the end-to-end invoicing lifecycle for vehicle damage claims, from initial appraisal review to final payment collection, resolving discrepancies and short-pays with customers, insurers, and third parties through meticulous documentation and proactive follow-up.
- • You will audit appraiser reports against internal calculation tools, validating labor rates, parts pricing, OEM procedures, and repair methodologies to ensure alignment with industry standards and contractual obligations.
- • You will reconcile complex cost components including paint, materials, sublet services, depreciation, diminution in value, and corrosion protection, applying correct tax treatments and ensuring adherence to SLA deadlines for billing and payment cycles.
- • You will maintain complete, audit-ready case files containing all required photos, approvals, repair orders, and supporting documentation, enabling seamless internal reviews and external audits or legal proceedings.
- • You will prepare structured evidence packs and detailed timelines for potential legal disputes, providing clear, organized documentation to support roadsurfer’s position in negotiations or litigation with third parties.
- • You will analyze recurring pricing variances, labor gaps, or estimation inconsistencies across claims to identify trends and recommend process improvements that enhance recovery rates and reduce cycle times.
- • You will collaborate remotely in a ticket-driven environment, leveraging spreadsheet proficiency to track, prioritize, and escalate cases while maintaining ownership, precision, and professional composure under pressure.
- • You will join a purpose-driven, fast-growing company that values flat hierarchies, team spirit, and innovation — where your contributions directly impact financial health and customer trust in Europe’s leading campervan rental and mobility platform.
- • You will develop deep expertise in automotive claims invoicing, repair cost validation, and insurance reconciliation — building a rare and valuable niche skill set that combines technical automotive knowledge with financial rigor, opening pathways to senior roles in claims management, automotive finance, or risk operations within the mobility and insurance sectors.
🎯 Requirements
- • Background as an automotive technician, body/paint specialist, estimator, or claims handler with hands-on experience in collision repair processes.
- • Strong technical understanding of collision repair estimate logic, including labor guides, parts pricing, OEM procedures, ADAS calibration, paint/material allowances, and corrosion protection standards.
- • Proven experience creating, reviewing, and validating damage invoices for customers, insurers, and third parties, with familiarity in deductibles, betterment, depreciation, and tax regulations.
- • High precision mindset with the ability to quickly identify inconsistencies in appraiser reports and documentation, coupled with fluency in German and English (written and spoken); French or Italian is a plus.
- • Proficiency in spreadsheets (e.g., Excel/Google Sheets) and comfort working in a remote, ticket-driven environment with strong ownership, persistence, and professional calm during case escalations.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Flexible working hours and remote work options under the Flex Work Policy, including the ability to work from anywhere in Europe for up to one month per year (workation).
- • Annual free campervan rental to experience the #happyroadsurfing lifestyle firsthand, reinforcing company culture and personal connection to the product.
- • Access to personal and professional development through an individual growth plan and roadsurfer’s in-house academy, supporting continuous skill building and career progression.
- • Additional perks include job bike offerings, corporate discounts via the Travel Industry Card, family and friend discounts, office amenities (ping pong, foosball), and a dog-friendly workplace.
