- • Coordinate daily hospital billing activities in alignment with established controls, billing guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- • Manage billing inventory for assigned healthcare clients to ensure financial goals are met and revenue cycle metrics are optimized.
- • Process and resolve late charge reports, rejected claims, claims in error, DDE claims, and shadow claims on a daily basis.
- • Ensure all facility rebills are completed and documented with appropriate comments on patient accounts within seven business days.
- • Communicate directly with hospitals to obtain missing or corrected information required for rebills and claim adjustments.
- • Engage with insurance payors—including Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, commercial insurers, and other government entities—to resolve unpaid or improperly processed claims using phone calls, letters, faxes, emails, and meetings.
- • Partner with internal teams and departments to resolve complex billing and payor payment discrepancies.
- • Submit timely billing and rebilling requests from customers and team members in accordance with departmental timelines.
- • Maintain current knowledge of billing practices for private and government payors, including evolving regulations and software updates.
- • Utilize MEDHOST core products and third-party billing clearinghouses with in-depth proficiency to manage claims workflows.
- • Accurately input and submit worked time by departmental deadlines to ensure payroll compliance.
- • Adhere strictly to all HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements when handling protected health information (PHI).
- • Assist in training new and existing employees on billing procedures, software tools, and compliance standards.
- • Develop and provide training documentation in areas of expertise to support team knowledge retention.
- • Attend and actively participate in team and departmental meetings to align on priorities and performance metrics.
- • Respond promptly to emails, phone calls, voicemails, and Microsoft Teams messages from healthcare facilities and internal stakeholders.
- • Maintain effectiveness and implementation of the MEDHOST Quality Management System to meet applicable regulatory requirements.
- • Recommend improvements to departmental and customer documentation processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- • Demonstrate proficiency in using AI-enabled tools such as copilots, chat-based assistants, and automation platforms to improve workflow efficiency while maintaining compliance and security standards.
- • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall billing operations and revenue cycle objectives.
🎯 Requirements
- • High School diploma or equivalent required
- • Minimum 1 year of experience in hospital billing or patient accounts receivable environment
- • Minimum 1 year of experience using hospital claims management or billing software
- • High-speed internet access (minimum 300 Mbps download speed) and unlimited data plan
- • Smart phone capable of running Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) applications
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
