Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • Be the catalyst for AI-driven transformation at Wüest Partner. In this newly-created (Senior) Data Science & AI Engineer position you will sit at the intersection of research-grade innovation and production-grade engineering, turning raw data into intelligent products that directly influence how thousands of real-estate professionals make decisions every day.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI solutions: from ideation and rapid prototyping with stakeholders, through rigorous experimentation and model training, to scalable deployment and continuous monitoring in production. You will architect systems that ingest millions of property records, satellite images and market signals, then surface actionable insights in milliseconds.
  • Design and evolve state-of-the-art Large Language Model (LLM) applications using LangChain, enabling natural-language querying of complex property databases, automated report generation and conversational assistants that reduce manual research time by over 60 %.
  • Pioneer Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines that combine structured data from our proprietary valuation engine with unstructured text and imagery, ensuring answers are not only fluent but also traceable to authoritative sources—critical for regulatory compliance in the Swiss real-estate market.
  • Develop computer-vision models in PyTorch to extract property features from street-view and aerial imagery—roof type, solar-panel coverage, façade condition—feeding risk-scoring algorithms that save underwriters hours of on-site inspections.
  • Write clean, testable and well-documented Python code that adheres to PEP-8, SOLID and domain-driven design principles. Establish internal libraries and templates so that data scientists across teams can reuse components and accelerate delivery.
  • Containerise every service with Docker and orchestrate multi-stage builds via Docker Compose, ensuring reproducible environments from your laptop to our Kubernetes clusters on Azure. Automate dependency updates and security scanning to maintain SOC-2 compliance.
  • Implement Git workflows (GitFlow or trunk-based) with mandatory code reviews, semantic versioning and conventional commits. Build CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps that run unit, integration and model-drift tests, then deploy blue-green releases with zero downtime.
  • Collaborate daily with software engineers, product managers, UX researchers and domain experts in valuation, risk and sustainability. Translate business questions into data hypotheses, run A/B tests and present findings in concise, visually compelling dashboards using Streamlit or Plotly Dash.
  • Champion MLOps best practices: feature stores, model registries, experiment tracking with MLflow, automated retraining triggers and real-time performance dashboards. Reduce model deployment lead time from weeks to hours.
  • Contribute to the strategic AI roadmap, evaluating emerging techniques such as few-shot learning, diffusion models for synthetic data generation and causal inference for price-impact analysis. Publish internal white-papers and represent Wüest Partner at Swiss AI meetups and ETH Zürich industry days.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and engineers through pair programming, brown-bag sessions and code dojos. Establish coding standards, review pull requests and foster a culture of curiosity, psychological safety and continuous learning.
  • Ensure ethical, fair and transparent AI by integrating bias-detection tests, explainability layers (SHAP, LIME) and privacy-preserving techniques such as differential privacy and federated learning. Work closely with legal and compliance to meet GDPR, FADP and upcoming EU AI Act requirements.

🎯 Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience designing, training and deploying machine-learning models in Python, with at least 2 years focused on NLP or computer-vision at scale
  • Proven track record of productionising LLM or RAG applications using LangChain (or equivalent) and vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate or FAISS
  • Strong software-engineering fundamentals: object-oriented design, unit/integration testing, containerisation with Docker, CI/CD automation and cloud deployment (Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Solid grasp of PyTorch (or TensorFlow) for deep-learning workflows, including distributed training, mixed-precision and model optimisation for inference
  • Nice-to-have: MSc/PhD in Computer Science, Data Science or related quantitative field; experience with geospatial data, real-estate analytics or Swiss regulatory frameworks

🏖️ Benefits

  • Hybrid work model (2–3 days from home) and flexible hours to balance life in and around Zürich
  • Annual training & conference budget of CHF 4 000 plus two paid innovation days per quarter for personal projects
  • Modern tech stack stipend: choose your own MacBook Pro or Linux laptop, 34-inch curved monitor and any peripherals you need
  • 25 days holiday plus the bridge-day policy, generous pension contributions and full coverage of Swiss accident insurance
  • Relocation support and visa sponsorship for non-EU/EFTA candidates, plus German-language courses to help you integrate
