📋 Description

• As a Senior Software Engineer - Infrastructure at Checkly Group Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the reliability and performance of a leading synthetic monitoring platform used by engineering teams at companies like LinkedIn, Citibank, Vercel, and Render. Your work will directly impact how developers ensure application performance and reliability from pull request to post-mortem, making you a key contributor to the company’s mission of unifying testing, monitoring, and observability through Monitoring as Code, OpenTelemetry, and Playwright.
• You will evolve and optimize Checkly’s hybrid AWS and bare metal infrastructure to securely run sandboxed code and AI agents with industry-leading cost efficiency, ensuring systems remain responsive under both ad hoc and scheduled workloads without compromising stability or escalating expenses.
• You will investigate complex customer and infrastructure issues down to the packet capture and process memory level, collaborating closely with a team of Staff and Senior Engineers to diagnose root causes and maintain the trust customers place in Checkly’s platform.
• You will collaborate with product engineers to enhance developer experience, support the company’s strong shipping culture, and provide the observability tooling needed for teams to ship confidently and frequently.
• You will contribute to infrastructure reliability by implementing and maintaining automated systems using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes, while applying deep Linux administration expertise to keep production services running smoothly and securely.
• You will help shape the technical direction of an early-stage, fast-growing company that values autonomy, transparency, and low-meeting, high-productivity workflows, giving you significant influence over the product roadmap and engineering practices.
• You will join a remote-first, async-first culture that prioritizes documentation, clean design, and meaningful work over bureaucracy, where your contributions are visible and impactful regardless of location.
• You will grow your expertise in modern DevTool SaaS architectures, hybrid cloud infrastructure, and observability systems while working with a tech stack that includes Go, TypeScript, Vue.js, Postgres, ClickHouse, and AWS/bare metal environments.
• You will become part of an international, remote team backed by $20M in Series B funding from Balderton, CRV, and Accel, where your work helps developers at over 1,000 companies build more reliable products.

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on experience building and maintaining bare metal and cloud infrastructure for production services
• Deep Linux administration experience
• Experience managing automated infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible or similar tools
• Basic or ideally advanced Kubernetes knowledge
• Excellent spoken and written English skills
• Ability to be autonomous and self-motivated in a remote work environment while enjoying collaboration and knowledge sharing with colleagues
