• • As a Systems & Control Engineering Intern, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of sophisticated vibration sensing and suppression strategies. This internship offers a comprehensive, hands-on research and development experience. Your journey will begin with assisting in the construction of a physical infrastructure designed to simulate real-world disturbances. Subsequently, you will leverage this platform to meticulously characterize vibration profiles and engineer advanced feedforward control loops aimed at mitigating these disruptive forces. By developing a custom shaker setup, you will establish a precisely controlled environment essential for validating high-precision tracking algorithms that are critical to the performance of our flagship and next-generation Free Space Optical Communication (FSOC) products.
• • Your contributions will be instrumental in achieving 10X impact through several key areas. Firstly, you will be involved in Hardware Testbed Development, where you will assist in both the mechanical and electrical design of a custom shaker setup. This testbed will be crucial for simulating a wide array of real-world disturbance scenarios, enabling robust hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing. Secondly, you will undertake Vibration Characterization, utilizing Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensors integrated within the testbed. Your responsibilities will include capturing, processing, and analyzing complex vibration profiles, transforming raw sensor data into actionable insights that will directly inform control system design. Thirdly, you will focus on Control Strategy Development, where you will design and implement advanced feedforward control strategies specifically engineered to counteract high-frequency vibrations, drawing upon the detailed disturbance profiles you have characterized. Fourthly, you will be responsible for Algorithm Validation, conducting rigorous testing of your developed control loops on various shaker configurations. This will involve benchmarking performance metrics and iterating on the suppression logic to achieve optimal results. Finally, you will contribute to System Integration, working collaboratively with our dedicated hardware and software teams to seamlessly integrate your novel sensing and control solutions into the broader Taara system architecture, ensuring a cohesive and high-performing product.
