📋 Description
- • Lead customer presentations to communicate technical solutions and project progress to government and public safety clients.
- • Perform system staging activities for mission-critical communication systems, ensuring all hardware and software components are properly configured prior to deployment.
- • Complete comprehensive system documentation for installed and upgraded radio communication systems, adhering to industry and customer-specific standards.
- • Execute live system upgrades on operational radio networks, including network gear, Windows-based devices, virtual machines, and proprietary Motorola equipment.
- • Ensure the architectural integrity and design fidelity of mission-critical communication systems throughout deployment and upgrade cycles.
- • Serve as the primary technical field resource during customer-facing upgrade projects, providing direct on-site support and troubleshooting.
- • Travel to customer locations across Quebec to perform field engineering duties, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of wireless communication infrastructure.
- • Deploy and integrate systems designed around the APCO Project 25 communications standard, with interfaces to customer sub-systems and legacy infrastructure.
- • Enhance traditional voice and narrow-band data networks by incorporating LTE connectivity for data services, mobile video, and advanced applications.
- • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues across Ethernet, TCP/IP, L2/L3, and MPLS protocols to maintain system reliability and performance.
- • Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, and Systems Engineering teams to deliver high-performance, mission-critical communication solutions under demanding timelines.
- • Present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including government officials and public safety personnel, ensuring clear understanding and buy-in.
- • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving wireless technologies, RF propagation, and broadband infrastructure to support system modernization efforts.
- • Adhere to strict security protocols and compliance requirements mandated by government customers for classified and sensitive operations.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, or Networking OR 3–5 years of Engineering or Wireless Communications experience
- • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident eligible to obtain RMCP security clearance
- • Must be fluent in both English and French
- • Experience working with radio communication systems, RF, wireless, or LTE infrastructure
- • Strong understanding of IP networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, L2/L3, and MPLS
- • Experience with network equipment from Juniper, Cisco, Nokia/Alcatel, Aviat, Xtreme, or Ceragon
