  • • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, developing and executing comprehensive account plans to drive growth and retention across the full customer lifecycle
  • • Lead customer engagements from initial discovery through successful deployment, expansion, and renewal, ensuring alignment between customer objectives and OpenAI’s AI product capabilities
  • • Generate new pipeline opportunities through strategic outreach, needs assessment, and value-based selling to enterprise and high-growth customers
  • • Collaborate directly with research engineers, solutions strategists, product managers, and technical teams to design and implement complex, bespoke AI deployment programs for customers
  • • Own and consistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets, with full accountability for forecast accuracy and pipeline health
  • • Analyze key account metrics—including usage patterns, adoption trends, and churn risk—to generate actionable insights for internal stakeholders and customer decision-makers
  • • Monitor industry dynamics, competitive landscape, partner developments, and emerging customer use cases to inform product roadmap inputs and corporate strategy
  • • Serve as the primary strategic liaison between customers and cross-functional teams including marketing, communications, business operations, people operations, finance, and engineering
  • • Contribute to the recruitment, onboarding, and development of new sales team members, helping scale the organization with high-performing talent
  • • Support the cultivation and evolution of OpenAI’s company culture by modeling customer-centricity, intellectual curiosity, and operational excellence
  • • Communicate complex technical concepts around AI models and platform-as-a-service architectures to C-level executives and cross-functional business stakeholders
  • • Build trusted advisor relationships with key decision-makers across multiple departments within customer organizations, aligning AI adoption with their long-term strategic vision
  • • Design and execute multi-stakeholder deal strategies for large, complex enterprise contracts involving technical integration, compliance, and scalability requirements
  • • Proactively identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts through deep understanding of customer workflows, pain points, and success outcomes
  • • Advocate for customer feedback to influence product priorities and ensure OpenAI’s offerings remain aligned with real-world enterprise needs
  • • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global AI trends, regulatory environments, and emerging applications in key verticals to position OpenAI as a thought leader in the market
  • • Participate in the development of sales playbooks, customer success frameworks, and internal processes to improve scalability and consistency across the GTM organization
  • • Represent OpenAI at industry events, customer briefings, and strategic partnership discussions to expand market reach and reinforce brand credibility
  • • Balance long-term strategic planning with disciplined execution, ensuring each account interaction advances both customer outcomes and business objectives
  • • Operate in a hybrid work environment with three days per week required in the San Francisco office

🎯 Requirements

  • • 9+ years selling and renewing platform-as-a-service and/or software-as-a-service
  • • Managing and growing customer relationships across the full lifecycle
  • • Developing accounts from early sales stages through successful deployment
  • • Designing and executing complex deal strategies
  • • Working directly with C-level executives
  • • Communicating technical concepts to customers and internal stakeholders
