  • • Megaport is seeking a driven and results-oriented Account Executive, Commercial, to join our dynamic sales team in Chicago. This pivotal individual contributor role is designed for a motivated sales professional eager to make a significant impact by acquiring and expanding our customer base within the Mid Market segment. You will be instrumental in driving revenue growth by introducing and selling Megaport's industry-leading Network as a Service (NaaS) platform to organizations with up to 2,000 employees and annual revenues up to $1 billion.
  • • As an Account Executive, Commercial, you will be at the forefront of our go-to-market strategy, responsible for identifying, engaging, and closing new business opportunities. Your primary focus will be on understanding the unique connectivity challenges faced by mid-market companies and demonstrating how Megaport's innovative solutions can address these needs, thereby fostering long-term customer value and loyalty.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a fast-paced, high-growth environment, collaborating closely with a Senior Enterprise Sales Executive and reporting to the region’s VP of Sales. You will be empowered to develop and execute strategic sales plans, conduct thorough market research, and build a robust pipeline of qualified leads. Your success will be measured by your ability to consistently meet and exceed sales targets, contributing directly to Megaport's continued expansion and market leadership.
  • • Key responsibilities will include prospecting for new clients through various channels, including outbound calls, emails, social selling, and networking. You will conduct in-depth discovery calls to understand customer pain points, technical requirements, and business objectives. Developing and delivering compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations tailored to the specific needs of each prospect will be crucial.
  • • You will also be responsible for managing the entire sales cycle, from initial contact through to contract negotiation and closing. This involves building strong relationships with key stakeholders within target organizations, including IT managers, network engineers, and C-level executives. Collaborating effectively with internal teams, such as Solutions Architects and Customer Success Managers, will be essential to ensure seamless customer onboarding and ongoing satisfaction.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud connectivity, networking concepts, and the broader technology landscape. You should be adept at articulating complex technical solutions in a clear and concise manner, highlighting the business benefits and ROI for clients. A proactive, self-starter attitude is paramount, as is the ability to thrive in an autonomous role while remaining a strong team player.
  • • Furthermore, you will be expected to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities and customer interactions within our CRM system. This includes forecasting sales performance, managing your sales pipeline, and providing regular reports to sales leadership. Staying abreast of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies will be vital to maintaining a competitive edge and identifying new market opportunities.
