- • bids&tenders is a leading digital procurement software platform, deeply integrated within North American public sector environments. We support government agencies at all levels in managing the entire procurement lifecycle, from sourcing and submissions to evaluations, awards, contract management, and supplier performance. Our platform is relied upon daily by public buyers and suppliers, streamlining complex processes and fostering transparency.
- • Originally developed over 15 years ago to address the critical need for accessible procurement opportunities for suppliers, bids&tenders has continuously evolved. In collaboration with procurement professionals, we pioneered eBidding and have since expanded our offerings to include advanced evaluation tools, comprehensive contract management workflows, robust supplier performance tracking, and an intuitive user experience for both buyers and suppliers.
- • As an Account Executive, your primary focus will be on business development within municipalities, public agencies, school boards, utilities, and other broader public-sector organizations across Canada and the United States. You will be entrusted with the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting and lead generation through to closing contracts, playing a pivotal role in accelerating our market penetration in currently underrepresented regions.
- • Your responsibilities will encompass rigorous pipeline development and proactive prospecting. This involves researching and identifying potential public-sector clients at municipal, regional, provincial/state, and federal levels. You will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust sales pipeline through a combination of outbound prospecting efforts, diligent follow-up on inbound leads, active participation in industry conferences, and strategic territory campaigns. Executing targeted outreach campaigns that are precisely aligned with public procurement cycles, specific regional priorities, and prevailing market conditions will be essential for success.
- • You will lead prospects through the entire sales cycle, from initial discovery calls and crafting tailored product demonstrations to articulating the platform's value proposition, navigating complex procurement requirements, presenting pricing structures, negotiating terms, and finalizing contracts. A key aspect of this role involves adeptly navigating complex, multi-stakeholder environments, engaging with various departments including Procurement, Finance, IT, Legal, and senior leadership. You will also collaborate closely with internal teams to prepare and manage responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) when necessary.
- • Effective cross-functional collaboration is paramount. You will work hand-in-hand with our Sales Development, Marketing, Product, Implementation, and Account Management teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and alignment on meeting customer needs. Crucially, you will relay valuable customer insights and competitive intelligence back to the Product and Marketing teams to inform roadmap development and refine our messaging strategies.
- • Strategic territory planning and accurate forecasting are vital components of this role. You will be expected to maintain precise forecasting data, develop comprehensive territory plans, and meticulously track all sales activities within our CRM system. Developing data-backed strategies to expand the footprint of bids&tenders in underpenetrated regions will be a key performance indicator. Prioritizing opportunities based on their revenue potential, competitive landscape, and relevant procurement timelines will be critical.
- • Developing and maintaining deep market and product expertise is non-negotiable. You must stay continuously informed about public-sector procurement practices, evolving regulatory landscapes, and emerging industry trends. A thorough understanding of the bids&tenders platform, including its workflows, unique differentiators, and compelling value propositions, is essential for effectively demonstrating its capabilities. You will also serve as a knowledgeable and credible market-facing advocate for bids&tenders at industry events, conferences, and webinars.
