📋 Description

• Own core accounting activities including monthly reconciliations, month-end close, and day-to-day financial transactions to ensure accurate and reliable financial outputs.
• Identify gaps in existing financial processes and take ownership of implementing solutions—proactively fixing issues rather than merely flagging them.
• Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual work, improve efficiency, and scale the finance function as LemFi grows across multiple international markets.
• Prepare and contribute to timely, accurate financial reporting that supports business decision-making across departments including data, operations, and leadership.
• Collaborate closely with finance, data, and cross-functional teams to align accounting practices with operational needs and strategic goals.
• Work in a fast-paced, scaling environment where structures are still being built, requiring adaptability and initiative without rigid oversight.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability in financial data despite ambiguity and evolving priorities.
• Explore and apply emerging technologies such as AI and automation tools to enhance finance workflows, whether through professional experience or personal experimentation.
• Contribute to building a lean, high-performing finance team that supports LemFi’s mission of providing financial access to the global diaspora.
• Operate with full ownership of tasks and outcomes, receiving minimal micromanagement but direct exposure to the Head of Finance and senior leadership.
• Prioritize tasks independently in environments where processes are not yet standardized, demonstrating strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Engage with a global team of 400+ across 20+ countries, contributing to a financial ecosystem that processes over $1B in monthly transactions to 30+ countries.
• Support the evolution of LemFi’s financial infrastructure as it expands from remittances into multi-currency accounts, credit, and long-term wealth-building tools.
• Uphold company values of sharp customer focus, data-driven decision-making, ownership, and grit in all accounting and financial activities.

🎯 Requirements

• Newly qualified or up to 2 years post-qualification experience (ACA, ACCA, ICAEW, or equivalent)
• Solid understanding of core accounting processes including reconciliations, month-end close, and financial data flow
• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with ability to identify, investigate, and resolve issues with minimal oversight
• Comfortable working in ambiguous, scaling environments where processes are still being defined
• Experience or exposure to automation tools, AI, or workflow improvement (including personal experimentation)
• Strong detail orientation and commitment to accuracy in fast-paced settings
