• • As an Accountant within the Finance organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting Coinbase Financial Services Europe Ltd (CBFSE), our MiFID regulated entity in Cyprus.
• • This remote-first position offers the opportunity to oversee critical accounting functions, ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, and maintain robust compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• • You will be instrumental in ensuring our financial reporting accurately reflects the complexities and rapid evolution of our crypto business, requiring close collaboration with product, compliance, and engineering teams.
• • Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of operational accounting, including the recording of daily journals and the creation of comprehensive supporting schedules.
• • A key duty will be the preparation of the CBFSE daily reconciliation and other essential periodic reports as needed, ensuring financial data integrity.
• • You will actively participate in the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and their supporting schedules, contributing to the overall accuracy of financial statements.
• • Foster strong cross-functional relationships with teams such as Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Tax, Treasury, and Source-To-Pay, ensuring seamless accounting practices and accurate financial reporting across departments.
• • Analyze financial data against key business drivers to identify emerging trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• • Provide essential support for regulatory reporting requirements mandated by CySEC, the Central Bank of Cyprus, and other Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF) related bodies.
• • Offer dedicated support for both internal and external audits, specifically addressing areas within your purview, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process.
• • Maintain meticulously up-to-date process documentation and standard operating procedures for your assigned responsibilities, promoting consistency and knowledge sharing.
• • Engage in ad hoc financial information requests and analyses, contributing to special projects as assigned and demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness.
• • This role demands a proactive approach to identifying and recommending process improvements within the accounting function, contributing to operational efficiency and best practices.
• • You will be expected to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, characteristic of the rapidly growing fintech and crypto industries.
• • The role requires a strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and their practical application in a regulated financial services context.
