- • Support the monthly close process by posting depreciation entries, reviewing general ledger accounts, and assisting in the preparation of accurate trial balances and supporting schedules.
- • Investigate financial variances and flag discrepancies for timely resolution to ensure integrity of financial reporting.
- • Accurately book non-product vendor bills including rent, utilities, professional services, subscriptions, travel, and other operational expenses in alignment with company policies.
- • Verify GST details on vendor invoices including GSTIN, HSN/SAC codes, and applicable tax rates before processing payments.
- • Assess TDS applicability on payments such as rent, professional fees, and contracts as per the Income Tax Act, and ensure correct deduction and recording in the books.
- • Process vendor payments after obtaining necessary approvals and maintain a detailed payment tracker to ensure timely disbursements.
- • Code all expenses to the correct general ledger accounts and cost centres to ensure accurate financial categorization.
- • Perform regular bank reconciliations, identify outstanding items, and follow up until resolved to maintain accurate cash position records.
- • Conduct vendor/supplier reconciliations, resolve mismatches between vendor statements and internal records, and document resolutions.
- • Reconcile petty cash and corporate credit card statements to ensure all transactions are properly recorded and supported.
- • Maintain accurate TDS workings and ensure vendor PAN verification is completed prior to payment processing to ensure compliance.
- • Coordinate with the tax team to validate vendor compliance documentation and support audit readiness.
- • Prepare and organize documentation for statutory audits and tax audits including ledger extracts, vouchers, and supporting schedules.
- • Respond to auditor queries promptly and provide requested financial records in a structured and timely manner.
- • Maintain a well-organized digital filing system for all financial documents to ensure easy retrieval during audits and reviews.
- • Collaborate with the central finance team in a hybrid work model, occasionally working extended hours during month-end close and audit periods.
- • Ensure adherence to Indian accounting standards, GST regulations, and TDS compliance requirements in all accounting activities.
- • Use Excel proficiently for financial analysis, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data validation to support accurate reporting.
- • Utilize ERP or accounting software such as NetSuite, Tally, or Zoho Books to record transactions and manage financial workflows.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2–3 years of hands-on accounting experience in a finance or accounting role
- • B.Com or M.Com degree; CA Inter, CMA Inter, or MBA (Finance) preferred
- • Proficient understanding of Indian accounting standards, GST fundamentals, and TDS provisions
- • Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and experience with ERP/accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Tally, Zoho Books)
- • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
- • Proactive communicator comfortable working in a fast-paced tech/marketplace environment
