  • • Join Iron Mountain Incorporated, a global leader in records and information management, digital transformation, data centers, and asset lifecycle management, and contribute to our significant growth story.
  • • We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Manager to join our Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) division, reporting directly to the North America Controller.
  • • This is a fully remote, senior individual contributor role that offers a unique opportunity to leverage your deep technical accounting expertise, particularly in US GAAP, to support our North American ALM operations.
  • • You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and driving efficiency within the accounting function.
  • • While this position does not involve direct people management, you will be instrumental in coordinating the efforts of a dedicated accounting team, providing expert guidance, and championing process improvements.
  • • Your responsibilities will span critical areas of financial accounting and reporting, including supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for the ALM North America business.
  • • You will be responsible for the preparation and meticulous review of journal entries, complex account reconciliations, and detailed financial reporting schedules.
  • • A key focus will be ensuring the accurate accounting treatment for core ALM revenue streams, cost of services, inventory valuation, fixed asset management, and various accruals.
  • • You will be expected to apply US GAAP principles rigorously to complex accounting matters and diverse business transactions, ensuring compliance with all company accounting policies and SOX/internal control requirements.
  • • Specifically, you will delve into the intricacies of revenue and inventory accounting for ALM operations.
  • • This includes performing and reviewing the accounting for revenue generated from asset disposition and remarketing services, which are vital to our ALM business model.
  • • You will also provide crucial support for inventory accounting related to IT assets, encompassing their valuation, the establishment of necessary reserves, assessment of obsolescence, and the processing of write-downs.
  • • Close collaboration with our operations and supply chain teams will be essential to guarantee the accurate financial treatment of asset flows throughout their lifecycle.
  • • The role demands strong cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless operations and accurate financial insights.
  • • You will work hand-in-hand with a team of talented accountants, coordinating close activities, proactively resolving accounting issues, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • • Partnering with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), operations, and commercial teams will be a significant aspect of your role, providing essential support for financial analysis and reporting that drives strategic decision-making.
  • • You will also play a key role in assisting with both internal and external audits, which involves the thorough preparation of audit schedules and prompt, accurate responses to auditor inquiries.
  • • A significant component of this role involves driving process improvement and strengthening internal controls.
  • • You will be tasked with identifying opportunities and implementing enhancements to our accounting processes, refining documentation, and bolstering our control environment.
  • • Supporting SOX compliance efforts will be a continuous responsibility, including the execution of controls and meticulous documentation.
  • • Furthermore, you will actively participate in system enhancements and contribute to cross-functional initiatives that have a direct impact on the accounting function and its efficiency.
  • • This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic business setting.
  • • Embrace the opportunity to shape financial processes and contribute to the financial health of a leading organization in the information management industry.
