- • As the Accounting Manager, Canada CIRO at Coinbase, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the financial and regulatory accounting strategies for our Canadian operations, ensuring robust compliance and operational excellence within the dynamic cryptocurrency landscape.
- • This pivotal role involves overseeing significant aspects of Coinbase Global’s operational finance and accounting tasks, with a specific focus on adherence to the stringent regulatory frameworks set forth by the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) for Crypto Trading Platforms (CTPs) and National Instrument 31-103, as well as the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO).
- • You will be the primary owner of maintaining the company’s books of account under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting.
- • Your responsibilities will extend to actively participating in the month-end and quarter-end close processes, including the preparation and meticulous review of internal and external financial reports and insightful analyses.
- • A key aspect of this role is fostering strong collaborative relationships with a multi-national finance organization, including teams such as Tax, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Financial Reporting, Treasury, Payroll, and Accounts Payable, to ensure seamless financial operations.
- • You will be responsible for the preparation and coordination of financial statements, critical regulatory reporting, and business forecasts, working closely with FP&A to deliver accurate financial insights.
- • This role demands a proactive approach to external communication, acting as a key representative of the Finance department in interactions with auditors, regulators, and other external stakeholders.
- • You will prepare and present Coinbase Canada’s monthly management reporting, including conducting thorough analytical reviews and communicating findings to senior management and the Board of Directors.
- • Serve as the central point of contact within the company for all financial and accounting-related queries, as well as inquiries from regulatory authorities concerning the firm’s finance function.
- • Develop, maintain, and update various finance policies and procedures to ensure best practices and compliance are upheld.
- • Monitor and oversee the performance of outsourced finance service providers, assessing key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure quality and efficiency.
- • Play an active role in Coinbase Canada’s liquidity management, coordinating closely with the global treasury team to ensure adequate financial resources.
- • Contribute to critical strategic projects, including the transition to new external vendors, system integrations, automation initiatives, and process enhancements to drive efficiency and scalability.
- • Provide comprehensive support for ad hoc financial information requests, in-depth analyses, and other special projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a problem-solving mindset.
