📋 Description

• Own and optimize end-to-end accounting operations including procure-to-pay, payroll, expense management, corporate card administration, and vendor management as the company scales.
• Manage accounts payable operations: vendor onboarding, invoice processing, payment execution, and related internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee payroll accounting functions: reconciliation of payroll liabilities, employee deductions, benefits, 401(k), flexible spending plans, and related GL accounts.
• Ensure timely and accurate quarterly and annual payroll tax filings in coordination with the payroll provider.
• Design, implement, and improve accounting systems and workflows to automate manual processes, strengthen internal controls, and enhance audit readiness.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives with Finance, People Operations, IT & Security, and Procurement to streamline purchasing, payroll, and expense workflows.
• Serve as the primary point of contact during financial audits, owning assigned workstreams and coordinating documentation across internal and external stakeholders.
• Support monthly financial close activities including account reconciliations, variance analysis, journal entries, and preparation of management reports.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts: cash, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, and other operational GL accounts.
• Drive system implementations and process redesigns to reduce friction, improve employee experience, and increase operational efficiency in accounting functions.
• Take ownership of evolving, ambiguous projects in a high-growth environment, bringing structure, documentation, and follow-through to new responsibilities.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and controls across all operational accounting areas to support external and internal audits.
• Partner with Finance leadership to identify inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions that align with rapid company growth and evolving financial needs.
• Leverage technology and automation tools to eliminate manual tasks, improve data accuracy, and enhance reporting capabilities across accounting operations.
• Act as a trusted operational partner to non-finance teams by making accounting processes intuitive, transparent, and user-friendly.
• Continuously evaluate and improve internal controls to mitigate risk while enabling speed and agility in a fast-moving tech environment.
• Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that standardize accounting operations across remote and in-office teams.
• Support special projects related to financial system upgrades, compliance initiatives, and process standardization as business needs evolve.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 7+ years of experience in accounting operations
• Experience implementing accounting systems and tooling
• Experience owning or supporting accounts payable, payroll accounting, or other operational accounting functions
• Experience leading cross-functional process improvement initiatives and driving adoption of new systems
• Experience supporting financial statement audits and maintaining audit-ready documentation
