  • • Lead the Accounts Receivable function for Emma Matratzen GmbH, managing all aspects of customer invoicing, payment collection, and cash application across 35+ international markets.
  • • Oversee the end-to-end receivables process, ensuring timely and accurate recording of customer payments, reconciliations, and aging reports in alignment with global accounting standards.
  • • Collaborate with finance, customer service, and logistics teams to resolve billing discrepancies, payment delays, and customer account issues promptly and professionally.
  • • Implement and optimize processes to reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and improve cash flow efficiency across Europe’s diverse payment landscapes.
  • • Maintain strict compliance with local tax regulations and financial reporting requirements in all markets where Emma operates, including VAT and cross-border invoicing rules.
  • • Manage a team of accounts receivable specialists, providing coaching, performance feedback, and workload prioritization to ensure operational excellence.
  • • Prepare and present weekly and monthly receivables dashboards to senior finance leadership, highlighting key metrics, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • • Work closely with external auditors and internal control teams to support annual audits and ensure all receivables documentation meets compliance standards.
  • • Identify and drive automation opportunities within the receivables workflow, leveraging ERP systems and financial tools to reduce manual effort and errors.
  • • Serve as the primary point of contact for external debt collection agencies and banking partners regarding payment processing and dispute resolution.
  • • Monitor and analyze customer payment patterns to proactively address potential defaults or delinquencies before they impact cash flow.
  • • Ensure all customer credit terms are accurately set, reviewed, and updated in accordance with company policy and risk assessment guidelines.
  • • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer master data in the financial system, including contact details, payment terms, and tax identifiers.
  • • Support month-end and year-end closing activities by providing complete and verified receivables data for consolidation and reporting.
  • • Stay informed on evolving financial regulations in European markets and adapt internal processes accordingly to maintain compliance and operational continuity.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven experience managing Accounts Receivable operations in a high-volume, international D2C or e-commerce environment
  • • Fluency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite with hands-on experience in receivables modules
  • • Strong understanding of European VAT regulations and cross-border invoicing requirements
  • • Experience leading and developing a small finance team
  • • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
  • • Excellent communication skills in English; additional European language is a plus
