Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Shape the next generation of financial planners as an Adjunct Faculty member for Kaplan’s College for Financial Planning, delivering the prestigious CFP® education curriculum in a fully remote, student-centered environment.
- • Own the end-to-end classroom experience for assigned course sections, translating College for Financial Planning materials into dynamic, outcomes-driven lessons that prepare students to pass the CFP® exam on the first attempt and excel as ethical, analytical planners.
- • Serve as the resident subject-matter expert for all seven core knowledge domains: the financial planning process, investments and wealth management, insurance and risk management, income-tax planning, retirement and employee-benefit planning, estate and legacy planning, behavioral finance, portfolio management, security analysis, economic and quantitative analysis, and alternative-investment classes.
- • Employ evidence-based pedagogical best practices—case studies, flipped-classroom techniques, real-time polling, scenario simulations, and adaptive assessments—to foster critical thinking, academic rigor, and intellectual curiosity among adult learners who are often working professionals.
- • Continuously integrate emerging trends, regulatory changes, fintech tools, and advances in learning science into lesson plans so that content remains current, relevant, and immediately applicable in practice.
- • Facilitate an inclusive, respectful learning community by setting clear expectations for discourse, modeling professional ethics, and proactively addressing diverse learning styles and cultural perspectives.
- • Provide timely, individualized feedback on quizzes, projects, and discussion boards, and maintain open lines of communication through virtual office hours, email, and LMS messaging, ensuring no student question goes unanswered for more than 24 hours.
- • Act as a student advocate by identifying at-risk learners early and partnering with academic advisors, student-success coaches, and financial-aid counselors to implement targeted interventions that improve retention and completion rates.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with deans, program coordinators, instructional designers, and technology teams to pilot new course formats, test emerging EdTech, and continuously refine curriculum based on performance analytics and student feedback.
- • Participate in all required annual trainings, faculty-development webinars, and compliance refreshers, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of accreditation standards, FERPA guidelines, and Kaplan policies.
- • Uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and professional ethics, avoiding any real or perceived conflicts of interest and safeguarding sensitive student data in accordance with Kaplan’s privacy and security protocols.
- • Contribute to the broader Kaplan community by occasionally serving on curriculum-review committees, authoring thought-leadership articles, or presenting at virtual conferences, thereby enhancing the institution’s reputation and your own professional brand.
- • Track and report key performance indicators such as student pass rates, engagement metrics, and course-evaluation scores, using dashboards provided by the College to inform continuous-improvement initiatives.
- • Embrace a growth mindset by seeking peer observations, participating in teaching-and-learning communities of practice, and pursuing additional certifications or micro-credentials that deepen expertise and model lifelong learning for students.
