  • • The Admissions Advisor role at University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) is critical to guiding prospective adult learners through the enrollment journey, helping them overcome barriers to achieve their educational goals while supporting institutional enrollment targets.
  • • Day to day, the advisor will engage in high-volume outreach via phone, video, text, and email; consult with students to uncover needs and present UMGC’s value proposition; document interactions in CRM; support registration and degree planning; provide information on financial aid, transfer credits, and veteran benefits; and participate in recruitment events, including virtual open houses and community college presentations.
  • • UMGC is a leading public university specializing in online education for working adults, military personnel, and veterans, operating under the University System of Maryland with a mission to provide accessible, high-quality education globally.
  • • In this role, the advisor will develop expertise in higher education admissions, student success strategies, consultative communication, and CRM systems; build skills in goal-driven performance environments; and gain experience supporting diverse learner populations, including military and veteran students, with pathways to advancement in enrollment management or student services.

🎯 Requirements

  • • An earned Associate’s Degree
  • • At least 1 year serving in an Admissions, Advising, Coaching or Consultative Sales role
  • • Experience working in a goal-driven, measured performance and team environment
  • • Excellent customer service and time management skills, high learning agility, creative problem solving, interpersonal, oral and written communications, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • • Excellent interpersonal communication skills for both one-on-one interactions and group presentations with diverse populations of students
  • • Excellent computer and keyboarding skills (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
