- • The Patient Account Representative role is essential to ensuring accurate and timely billing and collections for EMS services, directly supporting Virtua Health’s mission to deliver exceptional care by maintaining financial integrity in patient accounting processes.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying billable procedures, obtaining necessary documentation and pre-certifications, entering charges into the billing system, posting payments, performing daily reconciliations, managing month-end close, analyzing billing trends to reduce denials, resolving variances, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders such as insurance carriers and physician billing services.

- • In this role, the individual will develop expertise in healthcare billing systems, particularly Epic, strengthen data entry and analytical skills, gain experience in denial management and appeals, and grow professionally in a mission-driven environment focused on operational excellence and patient financial advocacy.
🎯 Requirements
- • 1-3 years of experience in billing, collections, registration, or a related hospital or office environment
- • One year of Epic system experience highly preferred
- • Fast and accurate data entry skills
- • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access)
- • High school diploma or equivalent
