Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Be the clinician who finally ends the 2–10-year NHS wait for children and young people who need an autism diagnosis. As a Paloma Health ADOS Autism Assessor you will conduct gold-standard, evidence-based Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) assessments for 4- to 18-year-olds via secure, purpose-built telehealth software. Every session you complete directly reduces the invisible crisis highlighted by the Children’s Commissioner for England and gives families the clarity and support they deserve within four weeks of their GP referral.
  • • Work at the heart of a fully remote, multidisciplinary team that includes Consultant Paediatricians, Clinical Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Specialist Nurses. You will jointly plan each assessment, interpret findings in real time, and co-produce comprehensive diagnostic reports that are instantly uploaded to our proprietary Patient Record system. Your clinical judgement is central to every decision; our AI tools simply remove administrative drag so you can focus on the child in front of you.
  • • Own the end-to-end assessment journey: triage referral information, liaise with parents and schools to gather developmental history, schedule and deliver ADOS-2 modules remotely, score and quality-assure data, and present cases in weekly MDT meetings. You will also provide brief post-diagnostic feedback sessions to families, signpost evidence-based interventions, and contribute to service improvement projects that continuously refine our pathway.
  • • Champion safeguarding and neuro-affirmative practice. You will embed trauma-informed approaches, adapt ADOS-2 activities for sensory or communication differences, and ensure every interaction respects the dignity, culture and strengths of the child. You will escalate safeguarding concerns promptly and maintain meticulous records that meet NHS Digital, Ofsted and CQC standards.
  • • Contribute to clinical governance and innovation. You will participate in monthly case-reviews, peer-supervision and audits, help train newly recruited assessors, and feed insights into our product team so that our software evolves with real-world clinical needs. Your ideas will shape national best-practice guidelines and influence how paediatric neurodevelopmental services are delivered across England.
  • • Enjoy a workload designed for sustainable care: we cap daily assessments at four remote ADOS-2 sessions, provide protected admin time, and offer weekly reflective practice groups led by senior clinicians. Whether you choose full-time employment or part-time hours (minimum 3 days for HCPC/NMC/Social Work England registrants or 2 days for GMC registrants), you will have the flexibility to balance professional excellence with personal life.
  • • Grow with a mission-driven scale-up that values lived experience and diversity. Paloma Health is backed by NHS England innovation funding and is expanding from 5,000 to 50,000 assessments per year. You will receive funded CPD, access to ADOS-2 research updates, and clear clinical advancement pathways into senior assessor, team lead or specialist trainer roles.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Current professional registration with GMC, HCPC, NMC or Social Work England and recognised ADOS-2 clinical reliability (or willingness to undertake Paloma’s remote ADOS-2 reliability training within first 3 months)
  • • Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience conducting autism assessments for children and young people in NHS, education or social-care settings
  • • Demonstrated competence in safeguarding children and young people, including completion of Level 3 safeguarding training or equivalent
  • • Comfortable delivering high-quality clinical assessments via telehealth platforms and able to work independently in a fully remote environment while permanently resident in the UK
  • • Desirable: additional postgraduate training in neurodevelopmental conditions, experience with culturally diverse populations, and/or published or presented work in paediatric autism assessment

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Fully remote, flexible employment with no commute—choose full-time or part-time hours that fit your life while still receiving a permanent contract, paid annual leave and pension
  • • Competitive salary plus ÂŁ2,000 annual CPD allowance, paid ADOS-2 re-certification and funded access to conferences and specialist training courses
  • • 30 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus bank holidays, private medical insurance, and a monthly well-being stipend for mindfulness apps, gym memberships or ergonomic equipment
  • • Collaborative, neuro-affirmative culture with weekly reflective practice, peer supervision and clear progression pathways into senior clinical or leadership roles within 12–24 months
