- • As an AI Application Security Engineer at BrainCo Inc., you will own the security of the company's products and application layer, focusing on secure development practices, agent security, third-party integration security, and data protection for AI products operating in highly regulated environments such as government, healthcare, and critical infrastructure.
- • Day to day, you will write code and ship security tooling, integrate security into the development lifecycle (including code review, CI/CD pipelines, and pre-deployment checks), conduct threat modeling, define secure patterns for agentic AI systems, build safeguards for sensitive data (PHI, PII, government records), and work directly with product and ML engineers to embed security into AI-native workflows using AI to automate threat modeling and code analysis.

- • In this role, you will define application and AI security from the ground up, build security tooling using AI to scale your impact, work alongside top-tier engineers, ship protections for systems used by millions, and grow the application security function in a high-agency, fast-moving engineering organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in application security or product security with hands-on experience on production systems at scale
- • Builder mindset: writes code and ships security tooling, embedding security into engineering workflows as a core responsibility
- • Deep fluency in application security fundamentals: OWASP Top 10, AuthN/AuthZ, secure SDLC, secrets management, secure integration patterns, and cryptography basics
- • Understanding of agentic AI security surfaces: how agents should be scoped, authorized, and reviewed for risk, with ability to collaborate with engineers to build secure design patterns
- • Experience protecting sensitive data (PHI, PII, government records) via access controls, audit logging, and preventing exposure through third-party integrations and AI-generated outputs
- • Proficiency in using AI to write code, automate security reviews, scale code analysis, and build internal security tooling
